The room was not safe & sanitary. In normal times, that would be unacceptable but during COVID-19, this is beyond unacceptable. 1. The coffee mugs tasted like glass cleaner which is not safe or sanitary. If this is a operational practice to not wash glass wear, this needs to change ASAP with new standards on washing &/or providing single use cups. Guests should not be ingesting cleaning supplies. 2. The blow dryer was filthy from previous guest makeup. This is not only unacceptable from a visual standards level but also shows that the blow dryers are not sanitized. I travel often for work and am a Hilton Honors member. I choose to use Hilton hotels for the experience they provide when I travel. In limited cases, I have used Marriott for work and decided to use my points for this stay. I was warned by a travel agent that Marriott was not clean during their recent stay with their family. While this was concerning, especially during COVID-19, I imagined it was his specific experience. I now can confirm it is from an operational process versus a one off bad service. Sanitation & safety is important during any guest operation procedure but in a pandemic, needs to be prioritized. I will be sharing this information with peers that travel. We were booked for a 3 night stay coming up and were forced to cancel due to the coronavirus outbreak. We have stayed here in the past, but may not in the future! After hours on the phone and getting no where with the hotel for either allowing a credit in the future or a refund....we finally got help from a friend who works for an airline. The hotel grudgingly issued a refund. To me this is not good customer service! The virus was not our fault, and most airlines, cruises and hotels have been bending and breaking rules to help their customers out! The treatment we received from the Courtyard Novato was rude and terrible customer service.

Just about an hour's drive from SFO, even at rush hour, we had a pleasant welcome on arrival. Room was clean and comfortable and big enough for 2 of us and loads of luggage (skiing). Easy access from Route 101 and a few restaurants at the shopping complex next door. It was just right for an overnight stay.

Staff is friendly here. Lobby bistro involves ordering at a counter and getting food to go or eating it at a bar stool table. Gym is well stocked. I think you should look for a suite to get more room/ be able to spread out. Plenty of parking. No Executive Lounge.

Quick trip to San Francisco on short notice so we stayed 20 minutes away to save money. The room was clean but the bathroom could have been cleaner. The bed and pillows were comfortable. They have food available to order but no room service, so you have to go down and get your food which is kind of a bummer. Although, someone did bring our food up. I think because we were there on a Tuesday so it wasn’t busy. We ordered two cheeseburgers and decided to try the chicken wings too. The burgers and the wings were good and you get a lot of fries, so we couldn’t finish all of it. So overall it’s okay but I will stay in San Francisco next time.
