The first Japanese restaurant I have eaten at outside Japan that has the emphasis on quality, attention to detail, and customer service that is expected there. Not all the dishes were fantastic, but the overall experience was excellent. I'll try some different things next time.

I love Taki so much. I used to go there every Friday with work colleagues. I don't get to do those regular Friday lunches any more, but I still take every opportunity to eat here that I get.Great food, AMAZING staff. My favorite Japanese restaurant I've ever been to.

Been going to Taki since I was a kid. Just moved back to Marin after 11years, and tried a few other places. Finally went back to Taki and it’s soooo good. Even better then I remember it as a kid, although the bridge over the koi fish pond is gone ?Love it and so glad that this family run business is still here in Ignacio after all these years ❤️❤️❤️Kid-friendliness: Definitely a family restaurant. The staff were so wonderful with my 9month old son and even brought a small portion of miso for him to try for his very first time!
Recently came back to the bay after 13 years and the food at Taki is still as good as I remember if not better. Can't go wrong with any of the food but crazy roll and a large Sapporo is my go to and still hits ?
I loved the atmosphere and had fish swimming in a pond inside and offered outdoor seating. I would come back if in the area, but it’s pretty pricey for the portions they offer. I wasn’t the biggest fan of their pine nut prawns since it wasn’t fully covered in sauce, but presentation was great. I would get their salmon teriyaki again for sure! Sushi was average, but still a good place if you live in the area. I would love it if they had special vegetarian rolls as well, but still had good options.Vegetarian options: Labeled vegetarian options but not all of them. I wouldn’t come here for their vegetable options, but they have good options.Dietary restrictions: They offer vegetarian and pescatarian options that were great!

I would recommend this place for the vibe, atmosphere, and service. If you’re looking for good food, this place is not it. It was below average, and not worth it for the money.
We ordered sushi and sashimi. It was fresh and tasty. Daikon was a bit bitter so we did not finish it. The soft shell crab was cooked perfectly. I was not a fan of the hamachi.

Taki is one of a very few Sushi/Japanese restaurants in the Novato area. I like going here because it is a little different than Tri but has similar great qualities at the same time.This place has a very nice ambiance with the front area housing a beautiful Koi pond that will keep you and your little ones (or old ones) entertained if you have to wait for a seat.This place can get a little busy during peak hours so just keep that in mindFrom a seating perspective, the tables that are partitioned off so that you can enjoy your dinner with your company. There is also a nice traditional seating area as well as a sushi bar. On nice afternoons I love sitting outside with my family so they have something for everyone.The real reason this place is great though is the food. They have a nice selection of rolls and other items that will have something for everyone. I particularly like their special rolls and had almost all of them. My children love the Udon so everytime we go we get at least 1 order of that.Whenever you're not feeling 100%, give that a shot. Guarantee you'll feel a lot better. Just get it door dashed or ask a significant other to pick it up haha.One special note that I would like to add is that they have an interesting beer that I never had or seen before. It's called Kawaba Sunrise Ale and it is Delicious!!!I would come back just for that!
