We can't rave enough about Kaye's Cake Designs! We had a last minute thought to get a Mother's Day custom cake made with figures of my Brother, Sister and I as kids. Kaye even included our cat. She matched the pictures we sent in perfectly and even had us wearing the exact same outfits. She is so very talented and the attention to detail was amazing. We couldn't stop looking at it. We didn't even want to eat it because the cake so was beautiful but we are glad we did. Best cake I've ever tasted. Thanks Kaye for making my Mom's Mother's Day so special! :)

This review is long overdue, but I highly recommend Kaye's Cake Designs. I called to request a custom sculpted cake for my daughter's 11th birthday. She wanted a cake that looked like our dog. I provided some photos and explained what I wanted. What they delivered exceeded my expectations. My daughter loved it. All of our guests loved it. The cake was delicious and it looked just like our dog. The process for ordering was very easy and I really enjoyed working with them. The price was good, as well. Incredible value. True artistry.

Kaye has done multiple cakes for me and my family and each one has been unique and delicious. From coconut to banana caramel, chocolate raspberry...Kaye has made to sure to inquire of our preferences and has tailored each of our cakes to our preferred tastes/flavors. She somehow finds a way to blend different flavors together (matcha strawberry) and make them taste great. She designed my engagement party cake and it was a huge hit with our guests! It contained intricate details and rotated! I will definitely be ordering more in the future!!!!

I was on instagram searching for a custom cake for our daughter's 4th birthday and ended up finding a local cake baker in Oak Park, CA who makes those artistic sculpted cakes you see on Cake Wars. We ordered from Kaye's Cake Designs and spoke with Kaye who was very nice and awesome to work with. We gave her our budget and she was able to accommodate the number of servings and scaled our cake accordingly. Very impressed! I gave Kaye several pictures that we liked and she had a mock up picture of our cake via email. By the end of the business day, all details were finalized, 3 gourmet flavors and 3 tiers were selected, and the cake was paid for. Everything was done over phone and email. If you have some time, check out all their sculpted cakes and their flavors. Their website is nicely designed and has plenty of pictures. Kaye absolutely delivered and her flavors were amazing and not super sweet. I will be recommending my friends and family to her.

I had seen pictures of Kaye's cakes, so I approached her when I needed something creative for a scavenger hunt I was involved in. Being an engineer type, I gave Kaye the general criteria for the cake and left the imagination to her. Her proposed design was creative and fun, and the actual cake looked better than I had imagined! Anyone who saw the cake or the pictures, has loved it. The cake tasted as good as it looked, so I was 100% happy with my purchase. I will be heading back to Kaye, in Oak Park, CA, the next time I need a special cake for a special occasion.

I saw an ad on Facebook of a motorized Star Wars BB8 Cake where the head was moving, it had lights and sound effects. This just totally blew my mind. I knew then I had to order a birthday cake from them for my son. I went on their website and saw Kaye’s (the owner) beautiful artwork of sculpted cakes and interesting flavors. Very impressed and just amazed at what she can do to make a cake stand out. Love, love, just love her work and we had the banana split cake for my child’s 7th birthday. Be sure to plan ahead and start your cake order early. You won't be disappointed.

The cake designer is in Oak Park, CA, close to our birthday party and we had specific dietary restrictions but Kaye had no issues accommodating to our needs. I would highly recommend and will definitely be using them again.
I ordered and received my second Cake from Kaye's Cake Designs in Oak Park, CA. Yes, I know it seems odd, but I have twice now driven 70 miles to pick up cakes I have ordered from Kaye. This time, it was a wedding cake for my brother's wedding reception. The bride has a host of allergies (chocolate, nuts and dairy) yet Kaye was able to create the most delicious cake! The bride and groom are fishing nuts so Kaye created the most original tiered fish cake that I have ever seen. The guests at the reception all 'oohed and aahed' over the cake and proclaimed it was perfect for the occasion. The bride was in tears, but happy tears. Every part of the cake was edible, including the lace on the bride fish. I got a slice from the Vanilla Bean layer and it was the best Vanilla cake I have ever tasted (and white cake is a favorite of mine). To accommodate the 70 mile drive, when I picked up the cake, they had made a custom 'shipping container' to protect the cake and keep it cool. We brought along dry ice to keep the trunk area cold and the cake traveled perfectly (from Oak Park to the reception location in Long Beach Harbor. Even the delicate fishing poles never moved in the entire drive! I love Kaye's creativity, and I am so impressed with the quality. Yes, I would do the drive again, the next time I need a cake for a special occasion.
