I found this place by accident while scrolling the map and boy am I glad I did!
The restaurant has a great atmosphere and the food was fantastic. I had the Asada Burrito with steak and it brought me back to the Carne Asada Burritos I used to get as a kid from that whole in the wall run by the guy with all the gold chains. Fantastic food! The presentation of the burrito was top notch. Cut in half so you can see the goodness inside, with a green onion on top and a scoop of pico and guac. A+ on presentation.
The chips and salsa were delicious as well, not too oily like some places. They provide one basket complimentary and additional ones are $1, which is unusual but not bad.
The menu has a lot of variety. What's neat about the menu is that it starts off with the story of the founder and her desire to have her own Mexican restaurant.
One thing to note, is the prices in the menu are cash prices. There is a surcharge for using a credit card, which is becoming more and more common up here and is extremely common in restaurants and shops in other parts of the state. So bring cash and save!
Definitely a place I'd happily recommend and it's great to finally have a _good_ sit down Mexican restaurant in Thousand Oaks again. Can't wait to bring the family back and to try their salad. I hear great things about it.

We discovered Margarita's a few years ago, the food is great and the service is attentive. My wife is Mexican and says the food is the real deal. We have tried different things off the menu and finish dinner saying to each other… wow that was great. Read on Facebook that the February 11th would be their last day, closing the restaurant. That has changed, they are staying open with different hours and we are delighted

This is my Mexican Cheers. Johnny, Jeff, Jonas, Jackie, Jayden and Gloria (had to mix it up with a G) are amazing. Get mama’s recipes made fresh to order and dang it, if you don’t get the margarita, it’s something you’ll regret.Enjoy a good time.

Came here for early dinner hoping to eat a delicious Mexican meal but was disappointed from the beginning. As we walked in we were not greeted, we ask if we could seat anywhere and the one waiter working say "Yes, I'll be with you right away," which took over 10 minutes. Once the waiter came to our table we asked about "Happy Hour" and was informed we would need to go to the garden or sit at the bar which would be inconvenient for our family. We ordered soft drinks ? and were finally given menus. Once we ordered our food and was served the food was bland. This is not a Mexican restaurant for sure, don't bother to come here if you really want Mexican food.

The food is so bad, isn’t mexican
The food is decent. Every person who works at the front and takes to-go orders is absolutely confused, all of the time. About 80% of the time, they forget some part of the order (sometimes soda, sometimes an entire meal). Trying to order an item with a simple change requires clarification several times, and the guy who took the order even called back 10 minutes later because he was still confused. There’s usually some confusion when ringing up customers as well. I have not had one pick up experience that has gone smoothly.
Update after managers response: the only thing my boyfriend has ever ordered from you is a carne asada burrito with meat and cheese only. How hard is that? And he says every time he orders that if you need to charge him more he’s happy to pay. It wasn’t just this one incident where our order was missing things. It wasn’t just this one incident where the customer service was awful. It’s every single time. But you’re close so we get your food (which is nowhere near the best in the world). And yes, the quesadilla should have been comped, as it was, for completely forgetting to put it in the order, me running my boyfriends food back to him so he could eat it while it’s hot, me having to drive back to your place, only to get the wrong type of quesadilla. It’s not just the person working tonight. It’s every single person I’ve met working in the front of the restaurant. I understand that as a manager/owner you can only do so much. But maybe it’s time to get better employees so you don’t have to micromanage everything yourself?
