We have been anticipating a visit and dining experience for several years. The dining room is well appointed and the service by the bar tender (before dinner drinks), sommelier, and wait staff was very engaging, attentive, and with perfect timing. I have one opinion and one disappointment. OPINION; We ordered the wine pairing for both meals ($140) and felt a full bottle of wine would have been a better choice based on the portions we received for the pairing service. DISAPPOINTMENT; At the bottom of the menu in very very small print (4pt?) was stated a 22% service charge is added. Both my wife and I missed this aspect of the menu. I have two comments on this; for a restaurant of this caliber and amount of service charge, valet parking should be offered. It was raining the night we dined and self parking was not the way we wanted to go. When the bill was delivered, there was no mention of the included 22% service charge. Not hearing this and not seeing the minuscule print at the bottom of the menu, I added a tip of 20% which was on top of the already included 22% tip. The wait person never made reference to my mistake. Had my wife not suggested for me to double check the bill, I would have left a tip of 42% on almost a $400.00 bill. You do the math. Fortunately, we found the mistake before leaving and the bill was amended as requested.

This was a special menu for Valentines day. Overall there were items on this menu that were good and some not so good. The overall theme though was a tart flavor through all dishes. There was a couple stand outs but the main which was a duck breast was not very good. The skin was not crispy and the meat was tough, it left a lot to be desired. I found this place by looking online and seeing others rave about their steaks and seafood. I don't think this menu lived up to what other reviewers said. I may go back but only if I know the menu before hand. With a automatic gratuity also doesn't give you any flexibility to tip what you feel was deserved. For over 500 for two people it did leave a lot to be desired. I would not spend that again for what we were served.

Ate in the cellar. Had a couple of drinks and the rib eye and short ribs. We will be back. It was great!

For my wife, two guests and I; this was our first time to experience the Elderberry House. My guests have lived in Fresno for 60 years...they messaged me that this was the best dining experience of their lives. The signature drinks (for an amazing price of $10) at the bar, the ambiance, the food, the service...hard to beat!

If I could give this place a thousands gold stars I would. This is the only high end restaurant I believe in Oakhurst. Iykyk. Every single bite was incredibly decadent and flavorful, nothing disappointed. I came here to celebrate my birthday after Yosemite and this was the perfect dinner to finish the night. Even the butter on the bread tasted like heaven. Expect a country side french vibe with a comfy air l. The service was amazing but keep in mind being a more high end establishment they already added in tip to your receipt. I didn't add anymore as it would've been over 50% in tip... (tip culture is insane). ! Overall the view, vibes and food were amazing.

The food was incredibly salty and wine pairings did not compliment the entrees. Wine compensated for the incredibly salty meals. Staff were eager to wait but seemed to be poorly trained on how to provide a fine dining experience. Several times my glass was empty and crumbs lay on my table as entrees were placed over and on top of these crumbs.

An expensive disappointment.. The food was ok, but not great and surely didn't match our expectations based on the price level. We paid around 550$ for dinner for two and a glass of wine each (they automatically charge 22% in service fee and ask for tips as well). The service was fair but not impressive compared to the 22% service fee and the expectation of a tip on top. We expected a full evening experience but it seemed like the waiters were a little too busy clearing the table after each dish which made it difficult to enjoy the food and relax. The ambience was quiet and nice but the interior and decor needed an update. Overall it was way too expensive compared to the overall experience.

We had the 5 course meal with wine pairing on Christmas Eve and were extremely impressed!! Every course was a delight and the wines were outstanding. The service was perfect—and the sommelier (Ericka) was very knowledgable and well versed about the wines. It was a fantastic experience and I would recommend The Elderberry House as a foodies delight....

Absolutely amazing! One of the best dining experiences of my life. The staff was incredible and VERY kind. The food was out of this world. The entire experience is worth every penny.

This is the third high tea I have attended here. While the service is lovely and attentive, it is concerning that they have never served a scone and cream. The sandwiches this time tasted as if they had been prepared much too far in advance as well. Not sure I will be returning.

This was a great find. The drinks were delicious and Chris is more than just a bartender, he is a mixologists. It was a perfect place for our date night. The place is small so be prepared for a wait if it is busy.

I came here for the first time, and I guess I expected more for what you have to pay. It's $85/ person which is fine, but what they don't tell you ahead of time is that there is an automatic 22% service fee. It was just my husband and I, and our bill came to $245! Other than what is included in the original pricing, my husband had one mimosa that was $16. The food was good, and they did accommodate me for my dietary restrictions, which I appreciate, but again - for the price, I think the service could've been better. I think they could have more tea offerings as well. The person who served us (Erica) was nice, but not that attentive compared to other staff at other tables. She also seemed to just be talking to my husband after a while, as if I wasn't even there which I thought was kind of weird or even a little bit rude. She seemed to be very attentive and even sparked up conversations with the table next to us, but didn't bother with any of that with us. I probably won't be back because of the price alone. If the service was better, I would reconsider.
