A perfectly serviceable on-the-go coffee shop that also has good pastries. There is limited outdoor seating, but if you're circling the lake on a nice walk this is the perfect place to refuel. It may not be ideal for a sit-down coffee / work session, but any place I can get good cold brew and a croissant around the lake will get repreat business from me.Just keep in mind there is no indoor seating available.

Ideal for a quick "grab and go." There's no seating but they do cater to furry friends by always having treats out!

Got some of their "award winning" drip coffee to go. Slightly burnt.

This is the best place to grab a coffee and a pastry on your way to Lake Merritt! Friendly staff and great food offerings. I love that they typically have treats out for your dogs.

The spinach egg quesadilla was good, but not as good as the photos I saw on Google Maps from a year ago. The one I got today was very spinach forward and light on the eggs. (See photos) It also lacked structural integrity since there wasn't a cheese layer holding everything together like in a normal quesadilla. As a result, it kind of falls apart while you're eating it. Would be nice if it were grilled too.

I've always had a great experience at 1888 Coffee Station! They are one of the few places who use A2/A2 milk, which my husband and I really appreciate because a) it's better quality and 2) easier to digest. The cashier/barista are always so friendly and whenever I'm going to walk the lake with a friend, they are my go-to spot!

Ordered an egg sandwich and the egg was twice the size of the bun. The sauce they buttered the bun with wasn't too good either. The pictures were misleading.

Worst cold brew coffee I've ever had. Utterly disgusting. Barista obviously didn't want to be there. Homeless people bothering you while standing in line. Absolute trainwreck of a morning coffee experience. DO NOT

Ordered:Medium Iced Lavender Latte (~$5)Aya's take:1888 is an unassuming coffee spot located right across Lake Merritt making this a great spot to grab a coffee with a date or walk around the park. The Iced Lavender Latte gave me the caffeine kick I needed and was smooth and creamy. I enjoyed the lavender essence in each sip. Very pleasant!

Excellent Customer Service!!!! Delicious coffee and exquisite menu options. Employees are kind/friendly and knowledgeable in coffee and baked goods!!Better than Starbucks and Pete’s and beats out its competitors and great local coffee shop for Grand Lake/Adams Point!!!Will definitely be back for more HOT or COLD delicious liquid goo (known as coffee). (Yes, they have other drinks too. Haven’t tried yet. Gives me something to look fowards too!)Favorite items currently: Donuts ?, chocolate Croissants and ALL Latte’s!!!(They’re all delish)Rating: Too low for 5 Stars!!!Needs to be 10,000 Thousand Stars!!⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

I ordered coffee for me and my fiancee that took so long to get! Our orders were simple and the barista took long getting our orders. We had noticed a pattern. After we had ordered, there was a short line behind us. Right behind us was an African American guy and after were white people. The barista and everyone else in the place served the white people right away before us. I had looked at the guy with an awkward look, and so did he with me. Eventually my fiancee asked the lady about my coffee, at this point 15mins had gone by. The lady then reached right behind the coffee machine to grab my coffee. It was so odd because I saw her put my coffee there 5mins after I placed my order. The coffee tasted horrible. Wasn't what I ordered. And prior to that, a man came by with his kids and the barista immediately made their drinks. I'd say atleast 1min after they got their orders. Not sure if it was a race thing, but it felt racist. I thought I was overthinking it, until I saw the other guys expression and what my fiancée had told me after. Also they messed up her order as well. Shame, it's a cute hole-in-the-wall place. But people need to stop choosing favorites, especially race.
