Definitely go on Thursdays for the Curry Lamb special. Very delicious homemade food with fresh ingredients that warms the spirit. Also the chicken patty and homemade thai tea are must haves :)

The rave reviews are warranted. It's a tiny cozy shop at the base of an office building, blink and you miss it. The sweetest ladies serve you healthy, delicious comfort food. The beets were tasty with a little kick. The kale was perfectly tender and well-seasoned. The rice was nice and fluffy, with no hard pieces and the chana masala was a heap of creamy comfort. Definitely the kind of place you want to visit as much as you can.

I was going to go to a spot I've been to before but two places were closed so I decided to pop into Anula's cafe. I was met by two friendly women behind the counter--they are quite cheeky. It's great! There was also a stream of repeat customers that came in and out and it just added to a comfortable atmosphere. I had the Monday vegetarian special with lentils, eggplant, kale and tofu. It was a little spicy but I like that! I don't usually like kale but this was very well prepared in that it was cooked through and flavorful with just a little crunch. The taste reminded me a bit of collard greens. I regret not grabbing a piece of the banana cake which other patrons were purchasing and raving about! Guess I have to go back.
