Fails to deliver a pleasant experience. The decor is typical for the area, but the food failed to shine in the way that it typically does in Oakland Chinatown.

You show up at 3.25 pm and they don't have sandwich. I was told to call 2 hours before I show upI actually called at 3pm and no one answered. What's the point of a restaurant specialized in sandwiches when they don't have any on a Friday early afternoon.

I stopped by on a Monday afternoon, and was the only customer in the store. I love that they charge $5.50 for a chicken banh mi. It seems like all the other banh mi places in the Bay Area charge outrageously for $10+, and this is one of the last few decently-priced banh mi places. The ladies working here are really nice old ladies. They even asked me if I want jalapeño in my sandwich, and left me alone to eat in peace when I sat at one of the tables enjoying my fresh and crispy banh mi sandwich.

One of the few places to get banh mi sandwiches in the area. They recently changed from buy 3 get one free to buy 4 and get $2 off. Still, it's a good deal to get 4 sandwiches for $20. We got the combo, the special, the pork, and the chicken sandwich. The bread was nicely crusty, and the fillings flavorful. Unfortunately, the pandemic and the current economic climate seems to have taken a toll on this business as they seem to have fewer employees working, so wait times for sandwiches can be long.

Old school restaurant. They don't accept credit cards, so be forewarned, but the food was very good. I had a beef and egg noodle soup and it was delicious.

Chicken pho and beef noodle soups were delicious and the fresh ginger on the side was a nice touch.

Love this local sandwich place, they actually open from 8 to 4 pm daily 7 days a week. Yelp published wrong time stated 11 to 9.

The grilled pork bahn mi was solid with great balanced flavors, super-fresh on a crusty baguette for $5.50. I've been doing a comparison of places in Oakland and this one was solid. Going back to try the beef pho. This place is a family run, Chinatown coffee shop so don't expect frills but the sandwich was :: Italian kiss::

Banh mi is freshly made, but unfortunately the ingredients they put in are not fresh at all. So be careful.

Delicious pho and bahn mi sandwhich! Def adding to the rotation, check it out! Also some of the best street art in the entire Bay is here, and nowhere else, period.

I was looking for a quick cheap lunch and I found it at Ba Le coffee shop. For $10 I got 2 bang mis, a special and a grilled pork. I think this place is a great example of you get what you paid for, the bread was not the freshest and you get minimal filling that is if mediocre quality, it's cheap and it works, and the quality reflects in its price. It's up to the individual person to decide if this is what they are looking for.

No frills type of cafe restaurant but the food is on point. I ordered a beef stew noodle and it was flavorful with just the right amount of spice. My dad ordered a peanut based noodle soup and that's his regular order here. Highly recommend! They also sell Vietnamese sandwiches
