My husband and I have been going to Bardo for special occasions for years. We absolutely love the atmosphere, the cocktails, and amazing food. Get the chicken liver paté- that's a must. They also have a savory martini with a pickled quail egg that is delicious. We sit at the bar every time. The bartenders are really friendly and helpful with recommendations. We are never disappointed.

Truly, a wonderful experience from beginning to end. A beautifully intentional & well thought out menu- cocktail & food, alike. Thank you for elevating our average Saturday date night into a memorable experience that we can't wait to repeat. It was definitely worth the drive for us valley folk.

Service was great and the ambiance was genuinely cool — but the food? Oof. I ordered a ribeye medium. The first one came out well-done, the second came back so rare I think it still had weekend plans. Thankfully, our waitress was an absolute angel and handled it like a pro. The French fries had zero flavor — I mean zero. Not even a sympathy sprinkle of salt. Tried the duck too; it was... fine. Drinks, on the other hand, were solid. So kudos to the bartender and our lovely server. As for the chef? Let's just say we may not be culinary soulmates. I wouldn't come back unless I happened to be nearby and needed a pit stop cocktail on my way somewhere with better food.

Our first time (wife and I) had the pleasure of experiencing Bardo. Definitely glad we made reservations since it was packed. We had bar seats and their speciality drink menu (and beer and wine offerings) was extensive, and expertly made with top-shelf liquor. Four or five main dishes offered on the menu with gf options. We had the halibut and steak...both were delicious and well presented. We enjoyed nice glasses of wine to pair with our dinner. We were too full for desert!

The food and service were superb. It was our one year anniversary and they brought complimentary champagne. It's worth the price, but it would be nice if the appetizers for 2 people came in multiples of two.

We did the family dinner, and it was incredible value for delicious amazing food. Every dish was so good. The deviled egg appetizer was my favorite, then the halibut bean dish was amazing, but honestly, the desserts stole the show. This place is so good it is definitely not just hype. It's real.

Always a great experience to eat at Bardo, with its mid-century vibes but modern up-to-date menu. The halibut was excellent, and special chocolate dessert also. Others had the ribeye and duck, both with praise. And expanding the crab (3) appetizer to (4) was seamless.

I enjoyed my time there. The food was outstanding. The service staff could've been a bit more interactive. The decor and ambiance was wonderful. Would definitely recommend and do again.

I celebrated my 65th birthday there with Family and this was my second time dining at the restaurant. My first experience was very satisfying, which is why I wanted to celebrate my birthday there. I love the ambience and the friendly staff. Everyone was pleased with the food and overall experience as was I.

There's a reason we spend birthdays, anniversary's and special events at Bardo. From the exceptional food and service to the ambience and the price not to mention the fabulous cocktails - You really can't go wrong.

Mondays open for excellent dinner. Hard to find something excellent on Mondays. And it was lively and bubbly without being noisy. Excellent food, creative and deep flavors. highly recommended

This is our third time to Bardo and they never disappoint. The changing menu with the seasons is a delight and I find myself savoring the bites and trying to figure out all the components of the dish. The staff is lovely and I love the atmosphere.

There are many great restaurants in Oakland, on Grand Avenue, Lakeshore drive and Piedmont Avenue. I would place Sirene, Wolf, and Pomet way above this restaurant. Service could have been better and the food was good, not great.

Came to catch up with an old friend and the place was fantastic. Good energy but not too loud for conversation. Very friendly and prompt service. The food was excellent. Cocktails and wine selection also very good. I'll be back more often.
