Friendly staff and wonderful baked goods. Great hidden gem in Oakland. The croissant and coffee cake are great. Definitely worth stopping by

Love love love this bakery. Strawberry rhubarb galette is divine. Unless it's a religious thing, feels so odd that they are closed on Sunday, especially considering that they would probably get extra traffic from the farmer's market. Go figure but I would love a nice Sunday pastry!

The cake was just ok, not worth the price

This bakery has taken over the location of the longstanding former bakery, The Montclair Bakery. The location with the uphill parking lot, near the popular Italian restaurant, Italian Colors, is ideal and convenient. Parking can get a bit frenzied at peak times, so be patient, a spot will open as people come and go frequently. We had a birthday cake, the Tuxedo Triple Chocolate Layer Cake, from here and it was awesome, a true work of art. A chocolate layer cake it had an exterior cream frosting that made it look more layered and taller than reality. The taste, texture and flavor was delicious. Very moist, and gluten free! We also got a small loaf of bread and two savory Bacon Scones... oh my gosh, were they good! Best scones I have had in years. They are on the pricey side, perhaps the only negative, but for the quality and value it is well worth it. This is a gem of a bakery and I am definitely heading back to try new things.

Most amazing Key Lime torte. DELICIOUS! Tangy, great crust, meringue on top. TO DIE FOR. Will be back for more goodies at this adorable, yummy bakery. Free, easy parking, too.

Great assortment of pastries & cakes. I usually go for the fruit tarts, strawberry rhubarb and croissant sandwiches. Parking is kinda meh, sometimes its packed. They do square payment, the service is always quick & friendly. COVID days, so only two peeps inside at a time, but it's fast.

This is my Montclair go-to bakery. They have consistent quality across all of their items. Cakes, pies, pastries and take home-baking kits. It's all here and delicious! And the staff is SO friendly!

Best Eclairs in the world!!! Perfectly sized and balanced batter, sweetness of real chocolate glaze and fully filled with thick French creme custard filling! No other eclair stands a chance! They run out quick, call in your order couple hours before they close!

Excellent pastries, including croissants as good as those in Paris and coffee cake that is top tier. They also have fantastic desserts, such a great variety! I just happened upon this place and it will now be my go-to bakery.

I was exploring Montclair Village & stumbled upon this bakery recently. They have a big selection of croissants, pastries, and high quality teas. I ordered the strawberry rhubarb and was really impressed! The edges were the perfect crispness & the inside was sweet but not overpowering. I like they rely on the natural sweetness of the actual strawberry itself rather than using a processed or artificial strawberry jam. Highly recommend you try it. Location: warning it may be difficult to find but if you're unsure just keep in mind the bakery is located up a ramp into an outdoor parking lot. Plenty of parking spaces and different shops to explore as well. I'll definitely be coming back to try their other items another time!

I don't know why it's taken us so long to visit Batch Pastries but we really enjoyed our strawberry rhubarb galettes this morning. Excellent! We'll be back.

My mom and I were heading back home from Moraga through the Oakland area and wanted to stop by at a pastry shop along the way so we found this place on Yelp. It was a tiny shop that could hold maybe one or two parties at a time, in a small plaza consisting of a few other small stores, an Italian restaurant and a Wells Fargo Bank. Parking is also limited to a few dozen cars. We got 6 different pastries for takeout (which only costed $21) consisting of a loaf of zucchini bread, pesto & cheese croissant, spinach quiche, chocolate macaroon, chocolate fudge brownie, and a coffee cake. I warmed up the spinach quiche at home and it was okay. The texture was crispy and the quiche itself was baked properly but it lacked flavor. The pesto and cheese croissant however, was absolutely delicious and would satisfy any pesto lover. The coffee cake was probably our least favorite as it barely had any coffee taste. The chocolate macaroon, zucchini loaf, and brownie were all excellent though and were rich with flavor, moist and chewy. This place is definitely worth it for the price, though I wouldn't make the drive to come out here unless I'm in the Oakland Hills area.

Came here on a Saturday morning right when they opened. The staff here are very nice and patient with us as we were deciding what we want to order. The rating is mainly based on the food we got. The croissants here are very doughy and dry. We got the apple croissant and the almond croissant. They both lack the crispiness and butteriness of a standard croissant.

Was coming back from Pet Food Express and spotted this place. From a distance the pastries looked amazing - I wanted to sample their croissants in hope of finding a great new bakery. The eagle-eyed staff member spotted my leashed Chihuahua and promptly warned me about "NO DOGS" due to health regulations. I then picked her up and expected to be in and out quickly. The lecture continued on "health regulations" so I said thanks and left. Too bad, I really wanted to try something here. There are lots of fabulous bakeries in Oakland where you can take your pup in and get stuff to go, I'll continue to frequent these places. But if you love health regulations, this is your spot. Can't speak to the baked goods...

These cookies are great; very large and soft in the center. The chocolate chip and peanut butter were my favorite, but the carrot cake and red velvet were great too. Definitely will be back!
