Service has been a little slow at times and the pours haven't been exactly generous but there's a good selection. Food was good the first 2 times but pretty bad the next 2 times. Spent $100 last time I was there for 2 people didn't feel like that great value or quality for the money. It was a sunday and usually I come for happy hour or whiskey Wednesday and I think I'll stick to that instead, better deals available then.

Went here on a Saturday morning. Just for some AM beers. Patio was empty. Perfect. Our server sat us, and I got my beer relatively fast. Then there was an aroma of piss. It was probably from the street, but a hosing off wouldn't be that bad.
My fiancee ordered 3 different beers because each one was either out, or the tap was broken.
The bathrooms were uncleaned and smelled awful.
Then the music choice was a particularly interesting idea from whoever was in charge. It was like someone trying to blend the vibes of david bowie, discordant piano, amplifier feedback, a blender full of nails, and the angst of a moody Gen x-er playing just loud enough to not dominate the space but still fill your ears with the equivalent of the aroma of piss...but for your ears.
I know they have done better in the past, and they can again. Couldve been an off day but they gotta get their shit together.

i like the design inside its very fun to show friends when they come to visit, but the fish taco was a little soggy. I really liked the drink suggested to me by PJ she let my cousin also taste beers before finding one for her

Good food and drink selection. The smoking gun was fun to try. So were the purple haze and siesta en Sonora. My favorite was the classic old fashioned. Simple and delicious. Good beer selection too.
The food was also good. Birria tacos, wagu burger, and orecchiette pasta. The big win was the duck fat fries. Delicious.
Service was good and everyone was attentive.

Duck battered fries ( delicious), shrimp something (delicious), and the nachos ( huge portion) so bring a friend or an appetite. The Lemony Snicket was very light and frothy. Thank you for a great first time experience. I will be back ?

Great place in Rockridge . We had a dinner and I took tacos duo with fish . It was very delicious one! They have also a long list of drinks, especially, beers. Cocktails present also. They have good place outside. The hall inside has a great interior especially a bar . Service is very friendly.

I would love to love this place but its fairly inconsistent with both food and service. I've almost always enjoy the Nachos with Birria and the Iceburg Head Lettuce Salad. Sometimes its better than others but I still come back for those. They used to have an excellent baked chicken dish that was superb. Last time I had the Burger and it was a disappointment. The burger was way over cooked (ordered medium rare and it came out well-done) and the duck fat fries were fried to death. I also have a pet peeve as I do not like a huge bun on a small burger and this bun was just to big and thick for my liking. Service this time was excellent but it can be lacking as they seem to go through wait staff fairly quickly. Spin the wheel - hopefully your visit is a winner.

Every time I have gone to Beer Baron, something always happens that spoils the meal a bit. This last visit was enough for me to not go there again.
The food can be pretty good, although it is hit and miss, but my fish tacos on a recent Monday were enjoyable and my old fashioned was well made, without too many bitters or sugar.
Service struggled badly, it took a long time to get an order in, even longer for food to come out, and items were forgotten.
But the souring part was the bartender, who felt it necessary to personally come out and rudely drop a cocktail on our table, after a friend asked for them to remake a drink. The bartender then rudely told him that this new cocktail, was exactly like the last one, and stormed off.
Our server was very pleasant, so I don't blame the bad service on them, and they were apologetic and helpful, but way overwhelmed.
A warning a head of time that they were understaffed and that the kitchen was backed up would have helped set expectations.
Parking: Parking in this part of Rockridge is very difficult.
Kid-friendliness: There are usually kids here.
Wheelchair accessibility: It is wheelchair accessible

We kept leisurely walking by this place and decided to pop in. Let me tell you, we were not disappointed! The service was delightful, the food tasty and hit the spot plus sitting on the patio was awfully relaxing in the summer sun. A loyal breeze drifted in from the bay. Superb. We highly recommend and will jolly wellsoon enough!

My server is staring at her phone while my beer is already poured at the bar. The bartender wouldn’t bring it to the table because he’s not supposed to. I’m the only guest.

excellent service, loved the cheese curds. french dip is great, feels empty sometimes but usually isn't a problem with the TVs they've got
Kid-friendliness: good for kids, their burgers are cheddar-optional, they've not got a 'kids menu' but all their meals have customizability for the picky ones.
