I’m baffled by the great reviews- nice atmosphere, good service with an attentive waiter who was well versed on the menu, mediocre food at best. Mixed appetizer plate: Eggplant rolls were good, hummus was fine, but calamari and shrimp were straight from the freezer to the deep fryer. Dumplings were dry and tasteless. Tzatziki had no discernible cucumber or garlic. Mangal was similar to baba ghanoush but without the tasty smokiness. Olives were standard but not great. The light and fluffy warm pita was good. Main: branzino was overcooked, over salted, and appeared to be pan fried, not mesquite grilled. Mashed potatoes were tasty. Accompanying mixed greens were straight out of the bag and topped with bottled dressing. Don’t even think about ordering the wine; stick to water or a cocktail. In fairness, the diners around me seemed to enjoy their various meat and lamb dishes. Didn’t try dessert.

The food was decent but the service needs improvement. They are a newer restaurant and I can understand they are learning but at some point I felt Im sitting at the restaurant from The Bear show. There were some issues with reservations of some guests, not sure if they had overbooked or what. I also overhead from the table next to us that they missed one of their orders and they were sorta rushing them to leave within an hour. The portions were also small for the price we paid but the taste was good.

We love this place! The ambiance, service, character and food is outstanding! We enjoyed meeting and conversing with the staff and, ultimately, met the entire team including the chef and owner! We learned about Azerbaijani culture, cuisine, wine and history and had an experience that by far exceeded expectations !
