BEST VEGAN DONUTS IN THE ENTIRE WORLD!!!! My goodness. I was in SF for only 5 days and I ate 5 of these donuts while I was there. The fluffiness is amazing. I loved the maple donut with custard filling. But they didn't have it the next time I went which was the biggest downfall. Love that everything is fresh but also really wanted that same donut. Coffee was good too.

Best hot chocolate in the world!! This place could shut down Starbucks!! It wasn't burning hot like most places, just hot enough to enjoy without burning your mouth. I drink my hot chocolate fairly quick so it was perfect for me.

I was doing my laundry and was looking for a coffee spot near by and came across this one. I was greeted with hellos and smiles from the employees. I was helped by a gentleman who I think might have been the owner. He was so nice and welcoming! I ordered a hot coconut mocha and it was delicious! I'm definitely stopping by here more often for coffee!

The space was nice, but the barista's didn't even know what kind of coffee they were serving. For $2+ for a quick cup you would think they would at least know something like that. The quick cup coffee was also so hot it not only burnt me, it was burnt itself.

One of the best coffee shops in the world. I travel a lot and I'm getting older and I have been hanging around coffee shops for decades: Black Spring is da bomb! Excellent coffee, chill vibe, super friendly employees, great space to relax (not crowded etc.), and like I said: awesome coffee. I'm pretty sure it's my favorite coffee shop in the Bay Area and like I said, one of the best PERIOD.
Nice place to chat with friends and meet new people but the ice coffee I ordered was FAR from good.

Extremely cool, friendly owner/barista. I actually came in asking about flowers but I got a little slice of Oakland local goodness instead. (It AIN'T a flower shop here, despite what the huge sign above it says.) Lots of space, very cool mugs handmade by a local artist, and the coffee is STRONG. I've had only a cappuccino here so far but I'm getting strong LavAzza vibes (i.e. Italian-style coffee). There's also vegan desserts and pastries at the counter. A nice way to spend some time reading some zines.
