I found Blue Nile Express from a recommendation through a neighborhood Facebook group and want to extend the shout out. It's delicious, affordable and I feel good about supporting a local restaurant in our community. I prefer ordering to go. You can request a vegetarian plate or a multiple portioned plate with meat. If you're not familiar with Ethiopian food, this is a nice way to get a taste by getting multiple options in one go! I've gone to a lot of Ethiopian restaurants throughout the Bay Area and Seattle so this rec doesn't come lightly. I've been going to this establishment for the past 3-4 months and have come to adore the owners.

We kept hearing good things, and being big fans of Ethiopian food we finally stopped by for lunch. This place has a very warm and wholesome vibe, like you're in an auntie's house or something. Everyone there is exceptionally friendly. And the food is excellent! We ordered the siga wot and lamb tibs and both were wonderful. We'd happily return!

Talk about a totally unexpected surprise! Had a guest over from another part of the country, and they wanted "something ethnic" for lunch. Quick search on Google led us here Wow You know the whole thing about holes in the wall that are amazing? Right. This is one of them. Food is homey and downright incredible. The proprietors are super lovely and welcoming. It's all extremely down to earth, comfortable and insanely tasty. Don't skip by this place!

Excellent veggie combo meal, under $20, more than enough for 2 adults. All vegetables were very flavorful and satisfying. I am on Park so it's an obvious takeout spot. Really great, quick meal that checks all the boxes.

I would give this place ten stars if I could. The food is absolutely delicious and flavorful, and felt hearty and healthy. The owners were incredibly kind and solicitous, and truly made us feel at home. What a hidden gem!

Nice people at the place. It's great to be able to point at the buffet items for takeout, especially when you have picky kids. I eat Habesha food fairly regularly but I've only gotten the takeout buffet from the steam tables at this place. Nonetheless, it has been quite delicious, even when it's not long before closing.
Sad to see Casa Vallarta (Mexican restaurant) close down after having been at that location for many decades, but Blue Nile Xpress is a worthy replacement. Been there twice to get their veggie combo, or veggie and meat combo (the former: three vegetable dishes; the latter two vegetable dishes plus a meat dish). All kept preprepared in a buffet-style warmer. I can't say anything about their other a la carte dishes, but the combo is excellent and for $12? How can you beat that?

Wonderful food! Really can't say anything better than that. I think most people will enjoy this as a takeout option. Would be a great place to get some food for a picnic at the lake or nearby park.

Super solid spot! Went there mid-week they had six items to choose from. I think they have more on weekends. We got two orders with 3 items each so we tried everything. It was all delicious and the portions were good size. Loved how quick it was. Owner was super friendly. We'll be back!

Wow! Found my new favorite Ethiopian spot, and lucky for us, it's just a couple of blocks away--how convenient! The food was absolutely delicious and generous portions. We got a veggie combo and a meat combo (even though neither was on the menu)--I called in the order and picked it up. It was ready when we got there, hot and fresh, really, really good. Everything was wonderful. This will be my new go-to!
