The food was delicious . We tried several dishes and each one was superb. Highly recommend it.

We ( 4 people) were seated at an area called the atrium which looked like a cafeteria, it is the extension of the lobby of the big office building the restaurant is located. This was supposed to be an improvement to the bar area. Although I had made my reservations weeks in advance I was told that wasn't timely enough to be seated at the main dining area. Making the reservation on Open table, one doesn't see these various spaces. The food was ok, not bad not amazing.my steak was cold, I had to send it back. Service was slow, the waitress was polite but perhaps too busy , the place is big so she must have had a lot tables to take care of . The helper to the waitress manner and disposition was simply abrupt and curt. We were told to hold on to our dirty utensils and had to tell him which meal went to whom.

Two of us shared the Classico ceviche and Aguachlle sea bass ceviche. Fish was fresh and well prepared. Had a long wait for our cocktails. We then shared a seared scallop, which we both thought was well prepared but the green sauce was overwhelmingly mustardy, which didn't pair well with the arugula salad. We really enjoyed the Mexican bread pudding, and was a highlight of the meal. Our wait staff was attentive. However, our next table's wait staff decided to chat it up for a looong period of time (about 10 min) with the guest, so much so that it was just a disturbance to the dining experience. We noticed his colleagues were all staring at him when walked by.

A gem of a neighborhood joint. Food was outstanding. We had a party of 12 and from the amazing chips and salsa to the outstanding margaritas, everything was wonderful. Of particular note was the exquisite mango salad. So good that we came back 2 days later to have another and try more of their dishes. Delicious!!

A good night spot and probably great on a sunny day for the outdoor patio. Lunch on a cloudy Saturday lacked vibe

Really beautifully decorated space, it’s elevated yet not stuffy. I came for their happy hour and ordered the 2 Buck Shuck Oysters and Pork Tacos. Both very delicious, highly recommend. I think I’ll try the Duck Tostada and Beef empanada next time I come. The service was great, very dry attentive and they have a good sense of humor.

This is a cute spot for those wanting a bit more class during happy hour in Oakland.

The bathroom is clean as well (super important for me).

A really good please to try. Came with friends ona. Friday night. It was busy but they were to accommodate my request for a larger table. The service was smooth and the food - delicious. I had the pork chop and order a few deserts. Wil definitely be back.

It's a fancy and expensive restaurant. Veg food has limited options, and tastes very bland. Casserole didn't look anything like a casserole, but more just like a thick bean soup. I will avoid going there again.

Loved everything I ate and drank. Food was fresh, beautifully prepared. The drinks were excellent. Service was fabulous. Appreciated that there were so many wonderful gluten free options.

This was an incredible experience. We went back 3x! The food was delicious, the staff wonderful, and the managers were so thoughtful- sharing unique dishes (whipping up an extra special ceviche off menu and sharing the history of some of their recipes). I came with business coworkers for the convenient location, but I came back for really good food, a caring staff, and some lovely drinks. I'm not a "reviews" person, but felt compelled to share what a gem of a restaurant this is. The team was so lovely to share the restaurant and menu history with us, and were so attentive (I had to ask for names). Each time I dined there, the manager checked in with us. Food and experience were excellent! Thank you for the great dining experiences. We'll definitely be back!

The Peruvian beef stir fry was a revelation perfectly cooked with a rich, velvety sage and also loved the Fried Calamari ; they were crispy, not greasy, with the sweet chile sauce on the side, everything was cooked to perfection. For dessert I had the Guava cheesecake it was delicious. This cozy spot has the perfect vibe for a date night dim lighting, soft music, and attentive but not intrusive service. My Waitress Nicole was the Best waitress and made sure I was OVERLY taken care of!!

I celebrated my birthday at Bocanova with a group of about eight friends and had a really great experience. The staff was friendly and attentive from the moment we arrived, and everything felt well organized. The manager, Saulo, was especially kind and checked in to make sure we were taken care of, which I really appreciated. Our food came out on time and everything we ordered was delicious. Overall, it was an easy, enjoyable night with good food and great service. I'd definitely come back and would recommend Bocanova for a group dinner or special occasion.

Bocanova is one of my favorite restaurants in Oakland. The food is always on point and the craft cocktails never disappoint.

We’ve always had the most gracious and genuine service there. Whether it’s one of the owners or their lovely servers taking care of us, we always feel extremely welcomed.

This place is a true gem
