The food didn't taste like authentic soul food. It didn't taste bad but it didn't taste authentic. The food could have been a bit more flavorful as well. Lastly, I dinned there to support a BIPOC business, but unfortunately it's NOT owned by a BIPOC.

First impression was great. Quaint place with a small dining area but also offers an outdoor patio. Nice vibe. Dining area was full of patrons enjoying their meals. My partner and I ordered at the Counter. The food was amazing and tasted well cooked and fresh. Unfortunately there was a small mis communication between other our order which they tried to remedy and we ended up getting served in Togo containers when we asked to be seated. The gal at the counter was very adament about her being correct about how we wanted to be served but I knew otherwise. In the end we enjoyed the food immensely it not so much the counter service. Table service once we sat down was pleasant. Thank you. I will be back again soon. Perhaps with my best attire and not my construction clothes. Perhaps that was a factor. Be patient with staff. The food is amazing. No photos as I devoured the shrimp and grits.

Always super yummy! Had the shrimp and grits and a half order of the bananas foster french toast. The french toast was so good it should be illegal. Also the molasses and walnut iced coffee is delicious as well. I tend to stay away from the beignets here because they’re so dense and dry to me and don’t compare to real NoLa beignets.

food great, server was lackadaisical, uninformed of items in food, and rude.

will not go back if she is serving.

BRENDAS…. OR AS THE VEGANS KNOW THEM…… JUDAS.

VEGAN JUDAS here has REMOVED the BEST VEGAN SANDWICH ON THE BLOCK (“THE SLOPPY JOSEPHINE” A DELIGHTFUL TOFU RENDITION OF THE SLOPPY JOE) LEAVING THE VEGANS AND VEGETATIONS WITH THE POORLY CORN STARCHED GOOPY “TOFU Q”— WHICH USED TO BE PERFECTLYCRUNCHED AND SAUCED.

VEGAN JUDAS I WITH HOLD MY FIVE START REVIEW OF YOUR FRIED CHICKEN RESTAURANT UNTIL YOU FIX THE TOFU Q AND OR RESURRECT BELOVED THE BELOVED AND SLOPPY JOSPHINE.

The food was great, well seasoned great coffee, people and location. Loved the outdoor option for seating. We will revisit....Town Bidness!

I love a po boy, and I was just happy to have a clearly labeled vegan option when I came with my family. Updated from previous review on 2025-04-30

Had the fried cauliflower and creole potato salad. When I asked the staff whether the potato salad was vegan (to double check) he seemed very unsure, but another one confirmed it was. The food took 45 minutes to arrive and the cauliflower was so greasy and salty. The potato salad wasn't something to call home about. The cherry on top was the intestinal distress for the several hours following the brunch.

Once again, music too loud for audio sensitive folks or business lunches at midday. Yummy Bisc& gravy! Beignets too heavy.

Came here on a Friday afternoon. It was quiet with plenty of seating. Got the 2-piece with mac & cheese and a biscuit and beignet (yay carbs!) All of it was was simply delicious (And I’m from Georgia so I know what I’m talking about! LOL)

The biscuit was so good I almost slapped the nearest mama I could find. First time having a beignet - eating that fluffy cloud of joy was a spiritual experience. Excellent service too and loved the hot jelly for the chicken! All for $24 with leftovers

Note: An employee there has a lethal allergy to lavender, so be mindful if you wear lavender-scented things

Foods decent. Fried chicken is good, but the breasts are very dry (couldn’t eat it). Staffs alright, not necessarily rude but not welcoming either. Might order dark meat to go, probably won’t be going back.
