I got the spicy fried chicken sandwich which was really good. The service is fantastic and the atmosphere is nice and calm.

I’ve enjoyed dining at this location in the past — the portions have always been generous, and the diner‑style comfort food has been great. I’ve even visited with friends and shared dishes, so I know the kitchen can turn out solid plates.
My most recent visit, however, was less than ideal. I asked if I could order from the kid’s menu because of the portion size, and I also explained that if that wasn’t possible, I’d be happy with just one pancake and a side of bacon. The server checked with the manager and came back with, “We’ll do it this time, but in the future you’ll need to order the regular menu item as is.” That response didn’t feel very welcoming or encouraging for a return visit.
I worked in the restaurant industry for over 25 years — from chef‑owned fine dining to BLD family restaurants, including more than a decade with Mimi’s Café in Southern California, where we specifically developed smaller‑portion menu options. I understand menu design, food and portion costs, and the importance of maintaining the integrity of a dish. I also know that most POS systems can easily ring in à la carte items. Putting one pancake and two strips of bacon on the griddle is no more complicated than putting on four.
ButtercuP could really benefit from being more accommodating to guests who, for any number of reasons, can’t eat large portions in one sitting. Beyond that, being told something is a “this time only” exception doesn’t create a sense of hospitality or make guests feel eager to return.
I hope this feedback is helpful, because I know this restaurant can shine — I’ve experienced it before.
The food was amazing! Me and my wife had a great time! Joe helped us out a lot regarding our food and helping us with everything. I’ll be happy to come again for the experience.

Consistently great food in generous portions. You can't go wrong with breakfast favourites here. My highlights are the liver and onions, pork chops, country fried steak, and their to-die-for banana foster French toast. Don't leave without trying their pie - my fav is the upside down apple pie, followed by key lime pie. Service is usually attentive and prompt. This place is a local classic for a reason. I'm sad that they closed their Cotton St location, but glad to hop over to this spot.

Food used to be good here, they changed the menu and food flavor. My go to used to be the spicy chicken sandwhich but they changed it. Also it was a burger but now the burgers are no longer as big as they used to be but also flavor was really bad, it felt like a really cheap burger. Don’t know if I’ll return been coming for years but food changed. Idk if they are under new management or something but food is terrible.

I had a truly fantastic time there. It feels like ages since my last visit; it must have been back in 2018 or something close to that. The people I met there were wonderful, and the food was absolutely delicious. Thank you again for everything!

Not the same, pancakes aren't as good as before must be under new ownership. Amazing customer service though. Also beware, we got our car broken into in their parking outside lot. Thankfully they didn't take anything
I recently had brunch with a friend here, found out that they have impossible sausage, I was allowed to order a veggie omelette with no eggs, cheese. . .

Paid at counter and tipped 20%. Server had the audacity to double my bill with her own tip amount written in thereafter. Server, Ana T.
Manager refused refund said, only owner can authorize this. Never received refund of stolen money. OWNER ARE YOU AWARE YOUR STAFF STEALS from customers?

First time there the food was brought to me within 2 minutes and it was cold I asked about it and he decided to heat the plate up and bring it back. There was a hair I assume was my cup. But since they didn't really seem very interested in my first visit I didn't want to say anything until the bus boy came and I pointed to him he just wiped it up. I took 30% Glad I got an opportunity to write this.
