Amazing spot in the Prescott Market. The Jollof is rich and just the perfect spice level. The oxtail was cooked to perfection and mashed potatoes were to die for. This was for dinner so next time is lunch where I’m looking forward to that fried chicken sandwich.

ps - it was so good. We started eating and forgot to take pictures.

If you come to Prescott Market in West Oakland, there’s one spot that beats the rest in both quality and variety. Cafe Noir is such a terrific little bistro if you want a delicious and decadent breakfast/brunch. I’m a sucker for a good breakfast sandwich, and I’m convinced theirs is the best in town.

Cute spot. Wish it felt more welcoming. My suggestion is working on customer service and their drinks are overly sweetened to the point where it’s unbearable to even drink. I took a few sips of a drink I ordered and it was so sweet it made me feel sick.

Amending this review based on my latest experience. I was excited to bring my mom here and was disappointed by the food quality and service. The whipped cream on my pancakes was completely melted and I received feedback from the server about waiting too long to pick it up. I needed to be fairly assertive to get some fresh whipped cream. The hazelnuts were stale and chewy.

Jaw-dropping sweet potato pancakes. Topped with blueberry compote, toasted hazelnuts and homemade whipped cream. Run, don’t walk to try these! Quick and super friendly service.

The chocolate sauce that came with the Ricotta Donuts is so dark and thick. Not too sweet, with intense cocoa flavors. Unreal.
