This place was really nice, and the food, specifically the jook is absolutely outstanding.

I used to really love this place and I would come by myself to treat myself to lunch. Today I walked in and the service first of all was terrible. Nobody took my order in till they finished everything food and drink for the person in front of me, barely acknowledging me, even though there were two people behind the counter Then I ordered a salmon bowl which cost me about $15. I walked out to eat it and found there to be zero salmon inside the bowl I walked back into show them and the woman completely rudely didn’t even apologize for the mistake. Gave me a tiny scoop full of salmon on top of my bowl and was incredibly rude about it. This place used to be good. I am super disappointed.

The food here is excellent and healthy. Its a great place to meet up with others as you can hear each other talk and the vibe is good. I’m plant-based and really like the options available. Casual dining.
Vegetarian options: Excellent vegan and vegetarian options.
Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian options.

Yes, yes, yes. I always wondered why there is no Asian breakfast in America (minus dimsum). This was exactly what I needed and was looking for. So excited. Thank you.
So good. Fresh, delicious, healthy, filling, authentic, budget friendly food. I write like one review every 3-4 years. The pulled pork Jook bowl is so good, I just had to say something. On top of the perfect food, the gentleman behind the counter was super friendly and finished my order before I even had time to put money in the meter. I love this place.

Healthy bowls. Non coffee options, kraut shots, grown-ups chocolate (spicy chocolate). Its a dream come true brunch place! High quality ingredients, wont disappoint.Their jook is popular and sells out early. Go early in the day for it.

I was fairly disappointed with the salmon bowl I ordered today as it had hardly any salmon in it, maybe half an ounce, ...if that. Is it meant to be flavored with just a hint of salmon? Recommendation: don't come here hungry, that's for sure.

Delicious, healthy, and hearty! I had the mushroom Jook and a golden latte. Yummy and nourishing!
I usually get the MUSHROOM BULGOGI and it hits the spot every time. I crave these bowls every so often. If you like flavor and balance and that perfect unique bite that's both familiar and subtly familiar, these bowls are amazing. If you don't know about these health-ful bowls, you better get on it!
dishes are porridge with different toppings - definitely delicious and unique. I had them a few times and loved them every time again.Mochi cake is not too sweet and wonderfully chewy and fresh. Their vegan avocado-chocolate mousse is super smooth with a rich dark chocolate flavor. Love them! The atmosphere and decor are casual and beautiful.Kelly L.Elite 2022Knoxville, TN34323552310/21/20222 photosCame during lunch time and there was no one else. Seems like only one worker too. Quite cafe.I got the salmon and a yuzu juice to go. They have the Japanese juices that I love here so had to get it.The salmon bowl was surprisingly filling for what it was. Brown rice at the bottom with a ginger tahini dressing. The salmon was good with a decent portion. Also a lot of veggie toppings like seaweed salad, roasted kale and mushrooms, and pickled burdock. This is close by so I'll definitely go back to check out the different offerings. I imagine it's tough to survive in the Bay Area since there's so much competition. Gladly support healthy affordable food!Umami menuSalmon BowlDanielle K.Elite 2022Oakland, CA1314028659/26/2022Updated review6 photos1 check-inSooo happy with our lunch today! I had the mushroom bulgolgi salad that was SO flavorful that I didn't even need the dressing. YUM. I just love this spot - so healthy, thoughtful, and never a skimp on the flavor!Tip: add fun items to your meals - I added avocado and a soft boiled eggs to mine!Mushroom Bulgolgi Salad6/6/2019Previous reviewWhat a perfect spot for a flavorful, healthy, whole-foods. We had the Umami Bowl, the Chicken Jook, and a turmeric latte (made without coffee, so it was caffeine free). Both are spectacular; the Umami Bowl blew us away. Fresh sardines, wilted greens, delicately pickled cabbage, fish flakes for a nice chew, mushrooms, a rice porridge...it was perfection.Read moreAmani A.Oakland, CA311046/25/20221 photoI paid $19 after tip for a salmon bowl (base price $12.50) that contains only a sprink
Golden turmeric latte w/ coconut milk, vegetarian bulgogi bowl with a salad base (I wish the mushrooms had been warm, and wish they had recommended I select a sauce. It was missing some flavor and tasted weird as a completely cold dish), and mochi!! This place is both healthy and yummy. The staff was friendly and I will definitely be back.
the salmon bowl was 9/10, I personally think it needed less rice and less of the oil( too much consistent of the oil). Since the rest of the food made it filling but overall just good.
