They were closed when we arrived and they didn't send an email or text letting me know they would be closed even though we booked a reservation. I'm not sure about the food etc. Open table made me select a star level but I haven't been able to try them yet.

The food says it all. If you are in the S.F. Bay Area, you need to treat yourself to this delicious food. The ambiance is amazing too. Dress up if you like. It is an exotic and esoteric experience that welcomes casual and dressy alike. I find myself ordering takeout or catering. After you find your faves on the vast menu, try the catering too because you can get specific with your order and share with colleagues, friends and family. Here are a few of my faves from Chef Nigel: Oxtails Salmon Rice and Peas Brussel Sprouts with cherries Jamaican Jerk Chicken Salad

Restaurant took my order for pickup, was listed as open on their website, Toast, and even their own answering machine but was closed when I wasted my time going there to pick it up. Manager was very short with my when I eventually contacted them about a refund and didn't even apologize about the situation. I was very interested in trying this place but this experience turned me off so much now I doubt I will

wet disappointing. the oxtail dinner had no whole pieces of oxtail- only broken bones with little bits of meat& the portion was very sparse & served lukewarm. I will not be back.

So I will say I need to go back and do a more proper review, because I don't have photos for this review. I will say that I tried a veggie dish for an entree and it was just okay. The curry sauce was delicious and the plantains, but the veggies looked and tasted like they came out of a frozen bag, not much flavor. The curry is what added the flavor. The side of plantains in the entree, well it was a tiny portion, little only 3 of them on the corner of the plate. So I suggest ordering them as an appetizer. I will say that the plantains were DELICIOUS! No sauce/dips that were provided needed. The ambiance was a little off for the night time, the lighting was super bright and didn't give an evening vibe, some of the dishes didn't match, but it was a nice looking restaurant overall. I hate to say that the majority of our party (about 10 of us) didn't finish their food, some got to-go boxes and others just didn't finish it. I feel like it's worth going back to see about the second experience

This restaurant & bar is an interesting mashup of cultures, and the food does show why this combination works. The noodles with shrimp chicken and eggplant was very flavorful, and the pulled beef short rib sandwich was so juicy and also filled with flavor.

Calabash is sooo so delicious! I came here for a company event and was lucky enough to try out so many dishes and drinks on their menu. It's tough to choose a standout for me but it was the shrimp and the salmon dishes, but across the board even their veggies are seasoned perfectly and had just right bite to it; they clearly know what they're doing! Everything was perfect. The only con was the service, which told us the wrong time of closing and didn't have consistently good service at times. But still I highly recommend! Cute spot for a date or to do family style with friends :) Did I mention the drinks are amazing?
We came to Calabash for the Oakland Comedy Show. Our server was kind, warm, and helpful. We order the fish fritters, ox tail stew, and green beans. All of our food was flavorful and delicious.

Highly recommend for eating in a group, or date or by yourself. It has a cozy atmosphere and comfy food. We tried all the small plates, the plantains and beans were highlights at our table and hands down the ribs.

Excellent Jamaican cuisine! We loved the flavors, and found all of our dishes to be very tasty and well prepared. The jerk chicken was amazing! Fantastic set and beautiful setting.

Booked the jazz brunch experience on Sunday. No Jazz. In fact the restaurant was empty. The brunch menu was very limited too. Kinda disappointed but the food was ok portions were big.
