These guys are great. The flavors are really delicious and they have really healthy choices. A delightful place.
Our work crew eats out for lunch daily around the town.
Clove and Hoof is one of the most consistent AND delicious places we love to eat.
The owner and the staff are phenomenal as well, and share such a warm atmosphere.
Today I watched as someone walked by the window we ate at, take a photo of my plate just before I began eating, and walked off. Thank you stranger, I now feel even more confident in my choice.
Honestly, there are some serious gems on this block. It may be a hard decision sometimes, but it's always a great choice.
Thank you from the Guys at the bar!
Delicious food. Friendly and accommodating staff. Would go here again.
it's a bit over the top. huge portions.
Everything was incredible. I will definitely go back.
I loved coming here!
Love this place! The C&H burger is one of the best burgers in the Bay Area, and the fries are bomb as well. The other sandwiches are delicious too, as is the Indian/Nepali food, so I do stray from time-to-time but I always come back to the burger. 5 stars fried in beef tallow!
Brisket to die for!
One of my fav go-to local spots. Honestly everything I’ve had is bomb, especially the ‘newer’ Nepalese menu items. Staff are cool & kind people, and they run a solid operation. Keep rockin yall!
I've been here twice at opening on Sundays. Food is well worth what you pay for it. First I came as a group of five after a soccer game. Beer and sandwiches. Each person ordered something different and raved about their order. Philly cheesesteak and the cheeseburger looked best. I had the Cuban which was delicious. Had the Philly cheesesteak the 2nd time I visited. Excellent but better bread could have made it perfect. Next time I'm going for that double cheeseburger. I'm definitely a fan.
2/27/25 Two years since my last visit. Last visit was just ok but I was in the neighborhood. Stopped in at opening and went with their breakfast sandwich. A++ and since I was the first customer of the day I had the place to myself. I had always come for lunch or dinner, granted 11am on a weekday is closer to lunch. This sandwich had me asking only one question: can I make it as good at home?!? Delicious!

Great place to grab a tasty meal. Our party loved the pulled pork sandwich, burger and Mac and cheese. The restaurant has a cool vibe. Highly recommended!
Love the cheesesteak here. But it’s all good. Good beers too
This used to be a spot I would relish going to but the last time I ate there was such a stark change. Previously I would have given this place 5 stars for food that had great texture and flavor and in fact have eaten there a multitude of times.
My recent visit the sandwich was very unbalanced with the bread soaked with mustard that overpowered and left the bread waterlogged. The fries no longer seemed the fresh cut and tallow fried wonders that I had come to this place for and instead seemed more cafeteria style. I did not finish and eventually threw out more than half the meal.
I will check in again in 6 months but until then will go to Southie or somewhere else for my fix.
Had dinner here with my husband. We got the pastrami sandwich and oakland cheesesteak. They include simple spring salad which is delicious. My pastrami sandwich is tad salty for my liking however my husband thought he’s oakland sandwich tastes excellent! We had a chance to talked to the owner and find him friendly and enjoy what he’s doing! I would come back here to try their other menu!
Clove and Hoof is my go-to restaurant when I'm in Oakland. They use TALLOW (beef fat) to fry their food in. NOT the unhealthy vegetable/seed oils that nearly all restaurants use these days. The fried chicken sandwich that comes with a side green salad and french fries cooked in tallow are my favorite dishes. So delicious.
