Great little spot if you're passing by. Quick and friendly service. Proudly a small business which I like.Tried the breakfast sandwich with bacon, egg and cheese which was fantastic. Wanted to try something sweet as well so got a morning bun which hit the spot too.Espresso-based drinks were quite tasty, they don't pay that much attention to steaming the milk but rather run a bigger can through the steamer and leave it to run meaning the milk will scream as it's not spun around but.. Turned out better than I expected still, some room for improvement if they wanted to. Coffee was still good no matter just a minor note.Other things worth mentioning:-They offer wifi for customers.-The place is ramped all the way from the (somewhat steep) street so you can access it using a wheelchair.

I have been to this nice cafe several times when grocery shopping in the neighborhood. It is an excellent, local alternative to the larger corporate cafes. The coffee and food are fresh and tasty. Staff are friendly, attentive, and professional. COVID protocols are followed, and the cafe is very clean, inside and out. If you are in the neighborhood for a medical appointment, shopping, or just want to try out a new cafe, visit Oaklandia. You will have a happy experience.

Oaklandia makes one of the best breakfast sandwiches on the planet. The key for me is the fresh baked, soft ciabatta roll. It's the perfect amount of bread for the sandwich and just the right density to highlight the ingredients and melt in your mouth. The egg is always perfectly cooked and the rest of the ingredients are fresh and tasty. Start with a base of spinach or bacon (or both), egg, and cheese; and don't overlook the extras like avocado and pepperoncini. Do yourself a favor and try the cilantro aioli; it's magical (unless of course you can't do cilantro). They make great coffee drinks and baked goods too! Best of all, the owner and staff are incredible and make you feel at home. I love supporting this business not just because their food is great, but because they're incredible people too.

My husband and I love going to this place whenever we're in Oakland midday. THE BBQ CHICKEN DOWN SOUTH SANDWICH IS SO, SO FIRE (it's the sauce 100%). We also enjoy the shaded outdoor seating, friendly service, the house-made breads and baked goods, and the fact that it's local & Black-owned (it was student-run at some point). Come support local, and enjoy coffee/pastries/brunch!

Love this sunny little cafe! Came here for a quick breakfast bite and the staff was super friendly. The majority of their special drinks are coffee, which I don't drink, but my friend had the black and white which she said was excellent! I had a matcha latte which was nice, and a lavender blueberry scone which was so flavorful and unique. My friend's vegetarian breakfast sandwich which had eggs, veggies, and a yummy chipotle sauce - definitely getting it next time!
