I had the do it! I couldn't discover that I was as parked in front of one of my favorite doughnut shops and not go in. 1 glaze in, $1.95 out! Now, it's not the tom of day for hot doughnuts but it was still good. The space was clean. The staff was chatty amongst themselves. It was a fair exchange.

Even though this is one of many branches in Oakland I do find that the service here is always good. The workers are pleasant and always greet me when I arrive. The place is clean and the food comes out pretty quickly. I will usually order one of their sandwiches, the club sandwich in particular. It is a (4/5) for me but I do think there are several highlights. The produce on it is always fresh and never soggy. It is hearty, so if you're hungry you will be left satisfied with the quantity of layers they throw on this thing. Pastries: 5/5. You can't go wrong here. The main attraction are the donuts and there's a reason other coffee shops will buy their donuts from colonial for the consistent quality and taste. My personal favorites are the UBE donut, chocolate sprinkle, and Oreo cookie. The maple bacon is also great after a long bike ride.

Great place until my daughter had a reaction to a donut there. I asked if they are peanuts in the recipe and they had no idea. If there are peanuts in the recipe that is something that should know, peanut allergy can be extremely dangerous? I always ask about nuts but we have been getting donuts there for years. The people they are very friendly. We will miss going.

I came just for a Thai iced tea and ended up getting a donut before they closed. The Thai iced tea was the worst I've ever had and the donut literally had a short straight string of hair. I didn't even say anything i just walked out. :(

Was walking around this shopping area and saw this donut shop across the street. I saw they had French donuts (the airy, eggy ones) which I love and decided to grab one. They have a $5 card minimum but I had cash. It was $2.75. The shop is cute, nothing stood out though. Except the lady working immediately greeted me even though she was still finishing up helping the customer before me, and she seemed very nice and welcoming! When I told her what I wanted, she confirmed if I wanted filled or not filled (I didn't know filled was an option), but I went for the classic French glazed not filled. It was delicious, soft and fluffy, just what I wanted. I would go back to get the same thing!

Over priced for the quality. Bought 4 donuts for $11.00, place doesn't have any seating. And they went to being 24 hours to closing at 4:00pm

I download produce on Sunday mornings to Montclair farmers market and ALWAYS stop for donuts before I head to Temescal. Fresh, warm, reasonably priced, and staff soooo friendly.Highly recommend.

Hits all the marks for a classic donut shopdonut holes (I appreciate you can buy them individually at 45c ea since they're for my 4yo)many large sprinkled varietiesold fashionedglazed and non glazedmochi donuts too! and an ube one which we got. They tasted pretty fresh but the ube was really a standout, very sweet and crumbly with good ube flavor.

Old fashioned Donut shop, huge selection. Best buttermilk donuts ever! Not fancy or innovative, just consistently good donuts. C'mon you know you want one right now! How about a filled maple bar, or an ube cake donut?Perhaps a light and airy glazed or cruller? Damn it now I wanna go!
