Its a small space, I've worked in the area for almost a year and never really paid attention to it. But it feels welcoming when you walk in. There's no indoor seating but they have small tables outside if you don't mind the sun. I got a half salad + soup combo which was a good portion. I was originally going to get a bowl but they ran out of sweet potato but the owner offered to sub it with another protein. The soup (red lentil) was yummy. The kale salad was OK, but maybe that's due to the kale and less to the rest of the salad.

Really great having a vegetarian spot like this in downtown Oakland! I ordered the BBQ Jackfruit bowl and not only was it a super generous portion size, it was delicious! Can't wait to try more of their offerings!

Everyone here was really nice, knowledgeable, and accommodating to me. I took my culinary class at this location, and learned a lot.

Soooo yummy especially the bbq jackfruit bowl. Wish they were open for more hours/day!

I received amazing customer service from Oak Harvest and feel lucky that we have local restaurants in the area that are doing things for the community beyond making healthy (and very tasty) food. The portion sizes are very reasonable as well as the prices. You'll get to eat a lunch that doesn't make you feel sluggish for the rest of the day but that still tastes damn good. The BBQ on the jack fruit bowl tasted like it had a tomato base plus other seasonings with a hint of sweetness like the real deal. My boyfriend was stuffed after finishing the whole bowl. I had the heart of the town salad and loved how comfortably full I was at the end. The dressing is light but flavorful, I wish I had a bottle of it at home! Great lunch spot in the heart of downtown.

The Southwest Bowl was fabulous - fresh, flavorful and filling. Fast and friendly service. Plenty of outdoor seating options on the plaza.

Small spot conveniently located in City Center downtown Oakland. Delicious, fresh, perfect warmth for a quinoa bowl and just the right amount of each ingredient. Felt like I was doing something good for my body and it tasted great. I'd go here all the time if I could afford it but a great treat when I don't pack my lunch.

How often do you get to have a healthy meal and at the same time support an important cause? This restaurant is part of a program that provides formerly justice involved community members and people with employment barriers, training and second chance employment opportunities. The space is located where CORE Kitchen used to be at City Center in the heart of downtown Oakland and is a lively spot for an outdoor lunchtime meal. Locally sourced, whole food, almost entirely plant based with the exception of a dairy yogurt breakfast item and a honey based dressing, both of which can be substituted easily. We tried all three of their bowls and all were winners. The Beet Bowl had the freshest, salad-like contents with crisp apples and sweet potatoes over greens and quinoa. The Autumn Bowl was a HUGE serving worthy of sharing with a healthy dose of Brussel sprouts, butter nut squash, and quinoa. My favorite was the BBQ jackfruit bowl with a great combo of avocado, black beans, jackfruit and greens. We'll definitely be going back to try the salads! Parking is easily available in nearby garages but aren't cheap, and metered parking is available, but BART would be super convenient. If you are reading reviews of CORE Kitchen, this is not the same restaurant! Just their former space.

I'm excited for our little Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow and ordered from the Thanksgiving menu. I drove over an hour and paid a good deal, especially for the butternut squash/quinoa/pomegranate dish which I realized after I got home was missing the pomegranate.

Delicious vegetarian family meal (that can be made vegan upon request). This week’s menu was elotes, Chile relleno, and grilled romaine lettuce. Easy metered street parking available. The order was ready upon arrival. They thoughtfully package their food in compostable containers. Support this great cause!

I picked up my chile relleno family meal (for 2 people) on Thursday, and it's delicious! Super easy ordering and even easier pickup. Healthy and inventive dishes.

Great vegetarian (or vegan upon request) family meal! Reasonably priced, delicious, and supports a great cause. The Elotes, Chile rellenos, and grilled romaine lettuce were packaged in compostable containers. There's easy metered street parking nearby too.
