I celebrated my graduation yesterday in this delicious restaurant. I am glad to say that we enjoyed a cool evening and the place was definitely one of the reasons for this strong celebration. The crew contributed in a sweet manner, the cooking was very good and my friends were very joyful. We shall no dout come back again for more events. Thank you very much.

Delicious Chicken and Shrimp Pad Thai at Davan Thai! The perfect chewy to the noodles. Sauce is full of flavors with a hint of tangy. Fresh Ingredients and clean. Extra peanuts please added Thai chili pepper flakes or chili oil for heat :) What's not to LOVE!

The service was awful, very slow and robotic. The food was over cooked and not made with the freshness of spices and ingredients that you expect from traditional Thai food. The restaurant itself is outdated and dusty feeling as it lacks any sort of sign of authenticity or vibe. Overall a very big disappointment and would not go ever again.

Unfortunately I can only give this restaurant a 3 star rating, although I would have loved to give it 5 stars, but there's a pattern I have to address. I went with my crew from work, about 15 of us. We do a birthday luncheon every month, and we select from different restaurants around Oakland to eat at. I'll start with the positive first. The food and the service were excellent, everyone agreed that the food was prepared well and everything was tasty. Our servers were very courteous and attentive. I had the Chili Chicken and Shrimp and I must say that I was extremely satisfied with my dish. Now the negative: before we got our food, one of our crew had read another Yelp review for this restaurant, where the reviewer complained about finding hair in their food. About 5 minutes after that, our food was served up. Not one, but TWO of our crew found hair in their food! The servers were very apologetic and quick to replace the dishes, but two separate incidents, plus the review that was read earlier, and it was clear that there was a pattern. One of our crew has already requested that we never go back to this restaurant. I'm not sure what measures the cooks are using to maintain cleanliness in the kitchen, but hopefully they step it up.

Pretty decent food but not so great. Quantity is always less. Serve is little rude, if you complain on the dish....Their lunch specials are very very expensive... Once paid $18+ for a Fish Curry Entree..They automatically added gratuity since we went in group of 5. Ask for soft TOFU or complete vegetables , if you're taking vegetarian option, they are filling plate with rubbery tofu ?
