Excellent food and drinks. Great staff. Beautiful cafe. What a pleasure to come here!

Truth: I use my Keurig machine every day and even with multiple sampler packs, I feel that every flavor tastes like vanilla even though it says "oatmeal," or "coconut cake." This place really made me feel like a coffee connoisseur. I now know what people with tuned in taste buds taste when they say "chocolate, woody, earthy," etc. I could actually taste the flavors in my flat white. I tasted toffee and chocolate and vanilla, though the vanilla probably came from the whipped cream. It was an absolutely amazing cup of coffee. My friend's plain old coffee was just as flavorful. These were some seriously magical espresso beans from Thailand!

Ordered pancakes from here, unlike diners that typically make their pancakes too large, these were nicely sized and tasty. However, the seats at this place are noticeably cold. This makes sitting and eating there uncomfortable.

This laptop-dominated cafe is still a welcome addition to Piedmont Avenue even though a lot of customers appear to be surfing. That's because they provide good-size tables generously spaced apart. It's described as a Northern Thai cafe on their website, though other than the name and a few menu items like the homemade roti, I would've just assumed it was just a generic coffee hangout. I swung in after my haircut intending to get one of their coffee drinks. I only noticed later that their beans come from Thailand. I decided to order the $6 Iced Matcha Tea Latte which was indeed a nice unsweetened quencher (photo: and then I saw they made sandwiches. The $12 Ham & Cheese & Fried Egg sounded good. It turned out to be a towering triple decker on a form-fitting plate. I needed a larger dish because crumbs were flying everywhere. All the requisite ingredients were accounted for plus tomato, avocado, lots of romaine spears, and a slathering of mayo (photo: I honestly wasn't expecting such a huge sammie, but I wasn't complaining because it was quite tasty. Where the Northern Thai part comes in I don't know. FOOD / DRINK - 4 stars...an unexpected sammie, satisfying with the latte AMBIANCE - 4 stars...nice bright space even if laptoppers turned it into a library SERVICE - 4 stars...cordial and industrious TOTAL - 4 stars...I should try something Thai, right? Came here to study on a weekday afternoon and might have just found a new study spot I truly enjoy! The location is so cute, right along Piedmont's busy street and nestled in between cute shops like a florist and a thrift store. Inside, there was plenty of seating and outlets for working. Wifi works pretty well too. I ordered the Thai iced coffee with coconut milk. It was good - but it didn't really stand out to me. It didn't really taste super coconut-y either. However, I will be back for another study sesh and try their yummy-sounding desserts they seemed to be known more for!

New cafe on Piedmont Ave. I wasn't wild about it, but I'm sure this place will have its fans. This review is based on just one visit and a couple of items. I had a 2% latte, which was just a run-of-the-mill good latte. it's a small portion for the price. My big disappointment was the sugar n lemon butter pancakes. They just weren't up to par. But this is more of a café than a restaurant, so I guess that's the proper expectation. Overall, I'll give them three stars and I wouldn't hesitate to go back and try other items. You may want to check it out for one outstanding reason, it's the only place I know serving coffee grown in Thailand! It is also a nice bright and sunny open space with Wi-Fi and outlets. I'd recommend it for a nice quiet place to work or surf.

Got the Thai iced coffee and the young coconut and corn roti. The roti was delicious and crispy - best eaten when hot. The iced coffee is sweet and creamy. There is a lot of indoor seating great for a date, casual outing with friends, or a study/work spot. There’s also wifi!

Nice dog friendly caffeine and snack spot for a working session or hangout. Would skip the food however as the savory entrees missed the mark. The Kafe yen (Thai coffee) was nice and creamy - went perfectly with the chewy brown sugar boba. The chiang mai mocha frappe was decent with notes of coconut but not as good as the Kafe Yen. Roti is freshly made, making it both crispy and chewy. Like other reviews, the fried chicken sandwich looked stunning but was bland. The chicken wasn't seasoned and quite dry. The accompanying chips were very salty and the sweet cornichon pickles were confusing. Since it's a Thai spot, I was hoping the Kai krata would hit the mark but it again was missing flavor like a tomato/oyster sauce gravy and green onions to make the breakfast plate come together. The Thai sausage was yummy though. Extremely appreciate that it is indoor dog friendly to accommodate rainy day hangouts with our puppy and friends. A solid spot for some sweet roti and drinks.

If you plan on coming here to grab a drink and do some work - don't bother. This place is really only good if you're looking to grab something to eat/drink and leave. Came here since reviews said they have WiFi for use but they don't. I told the guy in front about it and he simply told me to "try again". The drinks here are also just okay. They didn't have fresh coconut even though it's on the menu. My partner got a hot matcha and I was surprised they poured it in a glass with no handle. They didn't bother to put a sleeve on it. I would suggest going to one of the many other great cafes in the area.

Hate to leave a bad review for a small business, but really would not come back. Came on a Friday AM. There was only one person taking orders and making the food. Took more than 20 mins for our order of mango pancakes and a scone (which is already premade!). Most disgusting- employee handled money from prior customer paying and then didn't even wash her hands afterwards. She started to use her dirty hands to level off coffee grounds for my latte! I had to tell her she didn't wash her hands after touching money and just gave me a grin saying "sorry!" And then put on a disposable glove that I hope was clean. Honestly I should have cancelled my order right then and there.

I ordered the chicken & waffle, and the kumquat lemon mint tea. I thought the chicken wasn't super flavorful, and the waffle was a little soft and on the plainer side. Perhaps this isn't their specialty but I thought it was just okay. I found my drink to be good! I think it would taste better with boba though to have the sweetness and texture complement the tea (I didn't order it with boba). I'd be interested in coming back though and trying the desserts. It's a really cute place though! Carries more cafe vibes

Solid coffee with some tasty bites to pair with! There is plenty of space to catch up with your friend or find a quiet place to read a book or get some work done. Staff is extremely friendly and quickly prepare your order with care. I personally order the avocado toast (a bit pricey but very tasty with a fair portion of avocado with a balsamic glaze) along with a Kafe Yen drink (a super milky coffee drink). Overall solid cafe that you should check out if you're looking for a new space.

Super cute AAPI-owned cafe! The food and drinks were delicious. We tried the chicken & waffle and it was amazing: the breading was crispy and crunchy, while the sauce was a lovely balance of sweet and savory. I liked that there were plenty of non-caffeinated drink options with yummy SE Asian flavors, in addition to classic espresso drinks and boba. There are big windows that let in lots of natural light and plenty of tables, so it's a lovely place to sit and work or read a book. The staff mentioned that they will be offering more lunch options to cater to patrons who are working out of the cafe. The only downside was that our clothes and hair smelled like fried chicken after our brunch there, but it was so yummy that we don't mind, haha.

Came here on a rainy day curl up with a book and a latte. The Ube latte in particular, blew me away. Also recommend the oolong milk tea and rose ice tea. The barista making the drinks is experienced and extremely capable. Could not recommend Dek Doi Cafe enough if you’re in the area.

TLDR: This place has lots of seating, plenty of outlets, free wifi, fcking good assam black milk tea, awesome staff, 5/5 would come again I've only come in here at odd hours so I have no idea what it's like when it's busier. The staff here has always been super friendly and nice. Their Assam black milk tea is insanely good. I've had a ton of boba from different places and this one has a nice lighter floral note too it. Doesn't seem like they over brew like a lot of places do. They didn't have boba (although im not entirely sure because i didn't ask for any and wasn't asked). I've also gotten their Thai tea which is always pretty decent no matter where I go, but this place does it a little less sweet which is great since you can drink it without feeling like you need to chug water between sips. They have a decent amount of pastries which I've been tempted to grab because they all look bomb but haven't actually gotten any from here.
