Color me impressed. Brunch was SO good, I'm almost mad at it. Eternal, a new establishment near Jack London Square by the folks from Donut Farm was still in soft opening mode at the time so naturally, I wanted to complain about it so hard. Instead, it was... Faultless. Excellent, attentive service, comfortable outdoor seating, damned good pesto tofu scramble, crispy hash browns and fried meatless chicken, tender biscuit, savory mushroom gravy, generous and well-seasoned Caesar salad... What the hell, guys. Why won't you let me kvetch like the cranky old lady I am? Don't worry, I'll give you another chance to make me mad, and very soon.

I ordered the mashed potatoes and gravy, and chicken sliders. DELICIOUS. I ordered 4 donuts as well. They were really helpful over the phone, giving me recommendations and more options than I found on Caviar. Also, lots of parking right in front so easy to pick up quickly.

Good brunchy spot—they have a diversity of breakfast scrambles that are tofu based and of course vegan donuts. My two friends who were not vegan each got a scramble which they thought were ok, but everybody tried and enjoyed my jackfruit burrito (which I ordered as a burrito because I’m GF). Service was really friendly and the spot was fun. I’ll def be back.

This place is so good! My husband and I are huge fans of Donut Farm but weren't crazy about the food they served. Now that they have moved the food to a different location it is a million times better! Sydney has been our server both times we've gone and she is a sweetheart and knowledgeable about the food served there. The chicken and waffles is delicious as well as the home fries. The cheese they use is amazing and melts so well, the seitan bits are really good too.

This place is everything!! I'm super confused about any negative reviews... first off, vegan food always takes a little longer because it's FRESH and needs to be prepared per order. If you want fast food go to a fast food restaurant!! The flavors here are on point and the service is excellent. I've had the eggs Benedict which hit the spot and also the chicken Caesar salad which was EXCEPTIONAL. I've tasted the chicken waffles and the jackfruit burrito, ALL BOMB. Us actually Vegan people desperately neeeed more options like this!! I really hope this Resturant makes it cuz you ppl are assholes.

I drove an hour to get here based on Google Maps hours and they were closed. Please update your hours so that you don't break any more vegan hearts around the world!

Everything was awesome, service was awesome, concept was awesome. I pass this place but never able to get in because they're not open everyday. I Stopped in for some donuts. The donuts are supplied by Donut Farm and the server was so nice, we ordered 2 donuts and he threw in a 3rd for free just because it was the end of the day I guess. I'll definitely come back for more vegan donuts - I got earl grey lavender, vanilla cookie, and idk what the mystery free flavor was, I think birthday cake but that wasn't on the list so I'm not sure haha great either way.

Im going to go ahead and give this place a cautious 5 stars having tried a leftover tofu scramble my friend bought a couple days earlier which was full of flavor, and purchased my own jackfruit sandwich. Here's what I like, it's VEGAN, and more vegan restaurants are always a plus! I got my food to go when it wasn't busy at all. The server/cashier was obviously new and not super familiar with the menu but answered all my questions and offered condiments when she brought my to go order... 5-stars. The jackfruit sandwich was good, but tended towards overly sweet as a lot of BBQ sliders do. Some jalapeño or more cilantro might have balanced it. The French fries were crisp and not oily but they tasted a bit like funnel cake. I thought I was crazy until I tried my friend's leftover breakfast potatoes which also had a cake-like sweetness. I'm guessing this is a function of them using the same fryers for donuts and potatoes? Prices are reasonable and I'm looking forward to trying more of the menu as the staff settle in.

Went back, abyssmal service, was literally ignored during brunch. Made me not want to come back. Maybe they were just very understaffed that day, but not a good impression. First visit, few people, good food. 2nd visit, crowded-poor service and I really want to like them.

Try the garlicky greens tofu scramble- steaming hot, fresh, scrumptious and so healthy. The fried potatoes that come with it are just PERFECTION- soft and fresh inside and golden crispy outside and the bread slice is thick and delicious too. We also tried the fried tofu "chicken" sandwich which was crispy, hot and amazing with its sauce, pickles, lettuce and tomato on a very nice fluffy bun. The hemp milk coffee latte was creamy and smooth. Seating is comfortable and atmosphere is quiet and calming with staff who are always very nice and welcoming. Highly recommend!!!

Eternal-Oakland took over Chop Bar's old location on 4th street near Alice. I had I hopes being that this eatery is the closest one to my condo. But they failed in every way. How you ask? First was when we ordered the Beyond Burger and fries. We were told that their fryer wasn't working, so no french fries to go with our burgers. Second, after a looong wait, about 30 minutes for our food to arrived, which I thought was a little long for a burger. I know it's called BEYOND burger but I didn't know they had to go beyond to get it. Or that we would have to wait beyond a reasonable amount a time to receive it. The reason it took so long is beyond me. The most egregious experience I had however was that I was overcharged for my food. On the menu, the price was $12 dollars per Beyond Burger. I was charged $14 per burger. When I brought it to their attention, they admitted overcharging me. Long story short they took off an additional 10% off my bill. Customer Service was apathetic at best. The food taste-wise was decent. But with the long wait, food unavailable from the menu, and being caught for overcharging me, three strikes and your out! Despite being the closest restaurant to my house, my experience left me with a bad taste in my mouth. I will no longer patronize this establishment. My boycott will be, ETERNAL.

Tried Eternal for the first time today. I've been to Pepples before, and I must say - the food was better in the old location. I got the vegetable burrito and added tempeh, and it was mostly potato and very little tempeh - let alone other vegetables. No black beans, just kind of a big potato filled carb bomb. This is actually the 2nd time I've been in. Once before, I'd tried to order a decaf and they were "out." Same thing happened today. They were "out" of decaf at 11am on a Saturday. I think it's just something they put on the menu but don't stock yet, which is weird. Service was super friendly, but super, extra slow. We waited about 15 minutes to order, and watched a table that had been seated well after us order first. After we finally ordered, our drinks took quite. It wasn't slow, but it wasn't especially busy. I like the atmosphere, and I like the people. I like having another vegan option for brunch. I do hope they get it together a little more.

Wow this place is possibly my new favorite vegan dinner spot. For starters we ordered a beautiful marinated beet salad dressed with purple sprouts and green goddess dressing. Earthy and delicate. The garlic fries were hot and fried to golden perfection. We had to order another round of fries that's how good they are. Next was the beyond burger and Frickle dog. The fried pickle crust was amazing paired with a hellraiser amber beer. There's still so much we want to try. Definitely come explore their new dinner menu and selection of drinks. I want to see this place stand so we can keep getting amazing vegan food, especially dinner. Definitely had to yelp and definitely letting my friends know.

The new menu is a huge improvement. I went here several times before and I wasn't impressed. The breakfast scrambles are delicious, I highly recommend the pesto scramble. I am glad they got new plates, the old ones were too small, these are larger and nice. The wait staff are magnanimous and welcoming. I live 1 block away and I used to drive to butchers son; now I have a new vegan breakfast staple. PS: if the owner is reading this, please add donut menus on the tables.

Damn good food, friendly staff, freaking badass doughnuts, and now featuring adult beverages! Ask for something local, and they'll set you up with something great!
