Oily but tasty. Don't order with qMenu - it didn't work and I had to reorder in person from a list of about three dishes

I have been dreaming about trying this style of food for quite a while, I have seen it on tv but haven't found a authentic place till now. I was blown away with the flavors. I wish I ordered everything on the menu. Maybe next time.

First experience at this place, I just ordered the meat pie and the noodles with lamb, and I give this place two big THUMBS UP. The meat pie is not deep like a meat pie in England or some places in Europe, it's a thinner version and it's very good. Awesome crust, with excellent flavorful spicy stuff inside. And the noodles with lamb was a totally different flavor but also very good. The noodles are thick and chewy in just the right way and the spices are perfect. I'll be going back again soon.

Delicious food here. Decided on a whim to try it after walking past and looking at some of the photos of the dishes in the windows. We weren't super hungry so we didn't get a ton of food, but we went with the goshnan (meat pie) and the hand cut dry fried noodles. We were the only ones in the restaurant so food came pretty fast after ordering, only about a 10-15 minute wait. The goshnan held up well on the short walk home and was really generous in size. It could've been a meal on its own for just myself but was also a hearty appetizer split with my fiancé. The ground lamb patty inside was so flavorful and juicy. I'd definitely get that again. My fiancé focused on the noodles, which had a ton of lamb and were cooked with numbing, spicy peppercorn. Another generous portion and flavorful dish. As another reviewer mentioned, the influence that different cultures, foods, spices, and ingredients have had on the Xinjiang region shines through in Uyghur dishes. I'd come back here even if just for the goshnan, but would be open to trying other dishes on the menu. The flavors were unique, the food cooked well, and the experience overall was positive. Give them a shot.

We LOVED it!! We got da pan ji/big plate of chicken and it was sooo delicious! My friend and I haven't had it since we were in Asia last, and we enjoyed every bit of it. The owner was a fantastic host, and we highly recommend getting his food for a night out or for lunch! The noodles were amazing. You will be so happy you ate their yummy food! 好吃!

Order their noodles in.any.dish. You will not be disappointed and be contemplating why you've paid so much for other noodles before. The food is fresh, flavorful, AND reasonably priced. Go here, even if you are not close. Get food from here and eat it in your car, with no shame because someone made your food as if you were their only child. Yes, it is that amazing. Oh, leave a tip, it is not easy making this food.

The "Dry Cut Noodles" dish really lives up to the hype. Probably one of the best noodle dishes around in Oakland. Not too spicy and the owner made it into a Vegetarian dish for me and my friends upon request. The noodles are all handmade at Eden Silk Oakland and have the best type of chew. Something else on their menu you definitely should try is the "Fried Naan & Beef/Lamb". I got the Lamb option and oh my gosh, also very very good. The fried naan (which is essentially bread), stayed crispy even after being in the container for 6 hours. And even when I took it home and microwaved it, it was still a good treat. Me and my 3 friends only paid $29 for two very generous helpings of each dish (the containers were around 10 inches in diameter and filled to the top). The owner was also nice enough to get us 3 paper plates so we could eat our food separate from each other (covid precautions). We waited around 10 minutes for our food, not long at all. The Eden Silk Road seems like an easy restaurant to pass up in Chinatown but it should be given more attention for its affordable food, vegetarian options, and charismatic/kind owner.

Staff is cool. The meat pie was FIRE, hella good (Lamb and Beef) my interest has been piqued. My Flavor profile is southeast asian so i like in your face flavors, this dont hit you as hard as that but that aint always what you want. Flavors leaning toward cumin and light tingly spice.

My go-to place for Uighur food in the East Bay. Dapanji is like a curry, spicy and tasty, served with noodles but goes equally well with rice. Lamb kabobs are delicious reheated in the home broiler. The pie (Goshanan) was ok, but I found it be weaker of the three. Good food and service.

This place was excellent! The owner was super friendly and welcoming. I got the hand cut noodles with vegetables and nan bread and it was out of this world good. The noodles were springy and delicious and spiced perfectly. My partner got the meat pie (goshnan) and he loved it. Highly recommend, will go back again!

Must visit place in Oakland. Amazing food with taste of Uighur culture. I was very impressed with the menu and the service. The guy on the front is very friendly and helpful. They cut of half of the menu due to pandemic. Which is very painful to watch how owners struggle with the financial crisis. I got Lamb Polo and fried noodles. Both of the meals tasted amazing.

Love love love their food. Used to go to their restaurant in Fremont. Sadly, they had to close that one. And I've been driving from Fremont to Oakland to get their food. Uyghur food is just incredible! You have to try their dapanji (large plate of chicken and noodles), meat pie (pastry with meat filling) and the lamb skewers! I assure you, you will not regret it!

Great spot for Uighur food. Love the lamb with crispy naan. Beware that they do not offer online ordering. A third party app hijacked their menu and we accidentally used it the first time we went. When we found out what happened the restaurant was kind enough to make a dish that we ordered even though it wasn't on the menu. A definite must if you like spicy tasty food.
