Unlike Jack London Square, the food is delicious here, where you can get full from your $30 plate.

I placed an order here & passed the carwash right next to it & i saw about 10-20 rats/mice running around at 6pm. I did not see any inside, but im assuming they get inside somehow. I get that many restaurants have rats/mice, but that looked like an infestation. Sorry Everetts. I love the food, but i couldnt do it this time.

I have been going to Everett & Jones for a long time. Since the A street days. After A street closed we started going to Jack London Square location. Horrible service, no parking and your car gets broken into. E&J on MacArthur customer service outstanding. People friendly and engaged with customers. Dining area inside and out clean. Parking right in front or along MacArthur. That's my go to now. Last 3 visits were great. Many more to come.

I’m assuming you need to order as soon as the place opens for fresh barbecue. At the end of the day, 3 hours before closing, is a bad time to place an order. My beef hot link that is made fresh daily tasted and looked like it had been made three weeks ago. No amount of barbecue sauce could hide that fact. For real, stop covering bad food with barbecue sauce. Potatoe salad had a tart taste to it. Baked beans had wayyyy too much sugar in it. Really trying to give black folks diabetes? Word? The cornbread was decent , only because it was Jif. For the amount of money we spent it just wasn’t good. It wasn’t good at all. The Mac and cheese tasted like pasta and cheese. For real? Please let me know where to get good Barbecue in Oakland because this place ain’t it .

My 1st order was all the week old leftover fat trimmings with a side of overly sugared macaroni salad. Upon exchange I was given flavorless potato salad, Mac and cheese &greens. My chicken was so dried out and the sausage was old. Worst $80 spent!

This place is getting worse. I have been there twice in the last 6 months, and each time they forget to include the second side dish. They also leave out bread, so you pay for a pile of bones, fat, overcooked and dry meat, many garlic gloves, not enough bbq sauce, and a small scoop of potato salad. A regular dish is now over 30 dollars, and the food is basically junk food. Time to forget about this place! There are plenty of other BBQ options available, so look elsewhere!

It's been a long time since I've had Everett & Jones. At the request of a friend who moved out of the area, we had some. I had the ribs and it was much better than I remembered. I will be back again.

Bbq Ribs dinner I had, my friend had the rib sandwich. Greens had delicious meat & potato salad was good. My bbq sauce was mixed in potato salad ?. I never seen servers move so so slow. Must be lead in their shoes, everyone was moving in slow motion. I will call in my order from now on maybe. People still had to wait, after calling in. ??‍♀️or just try another place, an hour is too long for a place that serves precooked food.

The OG location 20 years later since I came back and the food is still off the chain good. A real Oakland treasure to still have around. You don’t have to worry if the food is worth it or not it is

Great barbeque and soul food. Probably minority owned/managed. Very friendly staff even to a pair of white male "honkies". ? Reasonable prices and large portions especially on combos. We ordered ribs and brisket combo. 2 men with moderate appetites gotten dinner and lunch the next day out of the barbecue and some of the sides! Look forward to supporting this great neighborhood joint a lot!
