Food was delicious. Picked up the biscuits and gravy and it was so good with generous portions. Parking can be a challenge depending on the day, but well worth it.

Online order pickup for two made on a Saturday. The order confirmation and text said I would be notified when the order was ready. The estimated wait time was 20 minutes. I attempted to contact the two numbers listed online for this business. Both numbers don’t allow you to speak to anyone. After 40 minutes, I still hadn’t received a confirmation that the order was ready. I did an Uber pickup for about $6 and sent all the order info to the Uber app. Firebrand gave the delivery driver the wrong order, and the driver did not verify the order because the first names were similar. After the driver dropped off the order with a drink, I knew it was the wrong one. At this point, an hour had passed, and I was starving. I called an Uber to take the order back instead of walking. When I arrived at Firebrand, I spoke with one of their best workers, whose name I will not mention because of privacy. The worker was very kind. I asked for my order, and they couldn’t locate it at first. Another customer assisted them in finding my order. They offered to make a new order, but by that point, it would have been another 15-20 minute wait, so I settled for the cold food that had already been sitting for over an hour. By this point, an hour and a half had passed. I took an Uber back home because I was sick and didn’t want to eat inside. To make matters worse, the food wasn’t warm and wasn’t their best. While I was there, I asked the worker if they had a contact number where I could reach someone or speak to a manager, and I was told no and sorry. For such a great small business, I really dislike that I have to rate this place so low because they usually make great food and have good customer service. However, they are inaccessible when issues happen. I lost 1.5 hours from the time I ordered to when I finally ate. I had to leave home sick to fix the issue, and for the price I paid to Uber there and back, I could have ordered from something else from the menu. They didn’t offer anything for the mix-up and inconvenience. They offered to make the food fresh, but it had been over an hour at that point, and asking me to wait even longer for warm food without offering some sort of remedy or even listening to my feedback about how the online system doesn’t alert the customer when the food is ready was disappointing. I wanted to speak with someone about it instead of leaving this review, but I wasn’t given the opportunity. Please do better, Firebrand. Y’all have amazing food and great workers. Inaccessibility is not good customer service, and customers should be able to reach someone or speak to management in person.

Really lovely folks working here and the food was fantastic. Best coffee & chai lattes in all of Oakland. Highly recommend!

I’ve had some really terrific sandwiches and pastries here before but the times I’ve returned to get the same items, it’s been inconsistent. Friendly people though, the service is always great.

I come here regularly. I love the French toast on weekends and I'll get some challah occasionally. I'm so happy to have this place so close by.

The place is the most overpriced, uninspired bakery I've ever been to. I showed up on a Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m., and they served me a cold, obviously day old baguette for $6. I asked for butter: foreign concept. May as well have asked for caviar. This alleged bakery doesn't have butter. Okay. Paid $4 for a small cup of mediocre drip coffee to boot. I just dropped $10 for stale bread without butter and middling coffee on a Saturday morning.

I had gone here a couple years ago and was disappointed by the pretzels and the overpriced bread scheme they're running. I swore it off then. But today the Whole Foods also had day old bread, so I ventured over here, and just had an absolutely pathetic experience.

Nowhere should be selling old bread for $6. It's unethical.

0 stars for order of too good to go. The manager tells employees to only give paying TG2G customers “One bread and one pastry.” Despite telling them that I paid for a promised $18 value, they said they only want to give you what they think is $5 worth. Moreover, they gave me a pork pastry which caught me off guard as someone who does not consume pork - they should give proper notice. Bread was stale and hard.

Now that’s a tasty biscuit! Wish I was hungrier to try more. The pastries look amazing. All that, funk music, and friendly vibes made for a great start to the day.

Had the breakfast biscuit sando and it was delectable; the potatoes were cut small and even (unlike most breakfast potatoes from my experience), the biscuit was moist and fresh.

If I could do 4.5 stars, I would. The food is amazing (shoutout to the biscuits and gravy) and the baked goods are pretty bomb as well. I snag bread and misc. pastries from them from time to time. Everyone is always nice and the vibes are pretty solid. The only thing that’s a little off is the seating arrangement. Everywhere feels like an awkward spot to sit. That could very well just be a me thing. It runs warm in the summer, but you may be able to snag a table outside and that addresses both issues. They do have WiFi, but like many other spots you’d be hard pressed to find an outlet. It’s a bit on the noisier side (music is loud and people are in and out) but if you’ve got a solid pair of noise canceling headphones or have a penchant for getting work done while the world buzzes on around you, definitely a great place for you. The weekdays tend to be a quieter than weekends (during the day at least). All in all, I def recommend.
