We were made to feel so welcome here on our first night in Oakland, had a great experience at this bar. The bartender and the local crowd that night were so friendly. They gave us great suggestions on things to do while in town for Halloween Meltdown. Would of never thought to take the ferry while we were here otherwise and it ended up being a favorite experience on our trip. Great dive bar atmosphere. It was cool to hear about the punk history of the place. The bartender sent us home with homemade spaghetti! We can't wait to visit again sometime.

As everyone says, wonderful dive bar with classic neon. Good crowd, especially after Mosswood Meltdown. BUT the bearded bartender last night -- super nice, fast, somehow while handling the very full bar by himself, is the reason for the higher rating.

Part of my formative life, burn your face off hot pockets, “want to be sedated”, great times and great friends. Glad your still open and glad I’m still alive at 45! Thanks and we miss the missing!

This is my local neighborhood bar. EVERYONE is welcome amd made to feel so. Full set of hard drinks, good selection of beer and wine, and a very modern juke box that streams about everything. Today's visit was a long talk at one of the few tables as we mused over a coke and a sparkling water sold to us at a reasonable price.

A truly fine establishment. For most dive bar lovers places like these only exist in our dreams but miraculously you can find it on the corner of 41st and Broadway. The juke box is not only functional but people actually use it. And they play good music. What a concept! Pints for a fair price and generous pours on shots. Where the word stranger doesn’t exist and if it does when you walk in it won’t when you stumble out.
