I came for a private function in the moon room. The space is intimate and has a bar to order drinks.

Great vibe in here! The menu is thoughtful and satisfying (amazing salads, heaping bowl of crispy fries, chicken patties), the staff is super friendly, and I love having a place to meet up with plenty of seating and no reservations.

I don’t like leaving reviews, but how does your bartender spill a drink on me? I say it's okay and part of the job, but she still has a horrible attitude. I leave with decorum, and you can’t ever offer the simplest hospitality. It's abhorrent behavior like that that will kill the industry. Now, there was a server with the sauce and altruistic DNA that was just gregarious and made sure I was good initially. He knew I had been waiting and had that natural good barometer to check in. He had a sweatshirt. He should be leading the cavalry. He's a rare gem, and I hope he gets acknowledged. This place isn't bad, it's just sad that a bartender can cause a bad experience… nothing against the establishment. One person can't degrade a place. I also don’t react; I just respond.

The only way I can describe this place is - mid. The food is good?? But nothing that will bring you back here again. And drinks are below average, and some of them just taste plain weird. This place has high potential. A chic cocktail bar that serves South Asian small plates with a twist. They need to up their execution to truly become a force.

Love this new spot in Oakland. Came from SF to try-it out. Great small plate food options for family style eating, really well balanced cocktails and super friendly staff. It’ll be my new meetup spot for any shows at the Fox. There is also a door at the back that leads into a separate space , darker lit speakeasy called moon glow.

Had the chance to visit the Gold Palm at Happy Hour Friday. I was skeptical with the order at the counter set up, but it worked perfectly.

The food was amazing. Great diversity in dishes, perfectly seasoned and yummy options. We sat at the bar and had a few cocktails. The service at the bar was excellent. Our food came out quickly and we were very happy.

We visited the attached speakeasy for a nightcap. Mood and drinks were stellar. Bartender and Bouncer were friendly and funny.

Check it out!

Might have been an off night, staff was amazing and nice, food was horrible

Chicken skewers were, VERY bland. Toasty “grilled cheese” was burned, no lots of flavor. Chicken samosa tasted like they were fried twice over.

Drinks were good. Very dissatisfied and disappointed esp coming from an Eater recommendation.

Freaking fantastic!! All things paired phenomenally together with the utmost care and concern for the patron!
Mani and Hasani and the staff are magnificent, skilled, and offer a comprehensive dinning experience !!!!!! Can’t wait to come back.

Great good, tasty cocktails. Love the size of everything, perfect for trying several options at once. The vibe in here is really cool. Lovely addition to the neighbourhood and Oakland.

We decided to try Gold Palm on opening night before seeing a show, having heard about it and loved the space when it was Palmetto.

My partner and I each had two different cocktails, so we were able to cover most of the cocktail menu, and four of the non-meat small plates (mushroom skewers, veggie samosas, cheese toastie, cucumber salad, and masala fries).

The cocktails were all 4.3 to 4.7 on my subjective scale, delicious and unpretentious, while thoughtfully sourced and purposefully crafted.

The food was also exceptional. The only ding I would give them is that the cost/amount ratio on the mushrooms seemed off. There are delicious and well crafted small plate mushroom dishes at bars throughout the Bay Area that give you much more food for your money. It’s possible there’s a particular reason why this one is different, but alas. The other four dishes we had were very good to divine, particular given their saucy accompaniments (their ranch is easily one of the best in the Bay, very dill forward).

If you like great cocktail programs and shareable small plates, it’s a must go.
