The tables need table cloths. The tables are old and stained. The music was very loud. We asked for it to be lowered. People come to eat and visit with friends. The music should not interfere with the main purpose of a restaurant. I was told the bartender controlled the volume for the music..really? The manager should re-direct this responsibility Let a well intentioned, polite and understanding waitress like Tess be in charge. Food good but not sure if I would recommend GLK because of loud music Susan ate with my family at GLK near Lake Merritt Sunday 3 31 2024

First time dining here and we really enjoyed their brunch menu for Easter Sunday. Our server Cam was exceptional, and we really appreciated his level of service and attention. It's also a great location, we walked around Lake Merritt afterwards and it was a beautiful ending to our experience in this area of the city.

$21 for a single crab cake... while it was good not great, it was rushed by the exorbitant cost. The GLK burger was pretty tasteless and the bun was dry and pasty. Overall disappointing.

Breakfast at GLK LM. Always great. I'm stuck on Hank's Plate but my sister had french toast, which is great. I've had it. My bro-in-law had the Bacon Fried Rice which he raved about and I almost got. Very tasty coffee. Excellent service! Thanks May and David!

We have been going to GLK Lake Merritt since it opened many years ago, before it expanded. When GLK expanded, the quality remained consistent. My Americana Burger was perfect and always is. The fries? Crunch! I had a nice glass of the Rioja to pair with the burger. Nicely dry but not puckery. My partner had the eggplant parm and she really enjoyed it. We shared the cup of kale salad. Yummy and so fresh! I need to get to the GLK Dimond before the brisket french dip leaves the menu. Both places are five star!

We sat upstairs for brunch and it was very enjoyable. The staff was friendly and gave great recommendations and our meals were delicious. The noise level was louder downstairs so I am glad we were upstairs. Will definitely return, had a great time.

Just a lunch together while visiting Oakland. Food was delicious. Smoked salmon Benedict. Bears out my husband's rule to “always order the special!” Server was so helpful and cheerful even when treated very rudely the a diner at the table right next to us whom she was also serving. A really fun neighborhood place!

I absolutely love coming here! The food is fantastic. I had matzoh ball soup, and the tuna Mac salad. My friends had the tuna melt and a cedar salad, and they looked phenomenal. We also ordered some extra fries :-) the service was great! such a perfect place! Oh yeah, and the drinks are excellent :-)

Good service and ambiance. Food however was better the last time — bread was stale and green sides were more impressive than just a spring mix. Still really enjoyed the food and experience, will return.

We had a perfect meal! It was all great comfort food — all five of us loved our very different dinners, and while the ambiance was lively, it wasn't too loud for the hard of hearing member of our party

My friend and I had our annual New Year's Day brunch here, and as always, everything was perfect. The avocado eggs benedict were sumptuous, coffee was purrrfect, and the service was great! Highly recommend a trip here.

We really enjoyed our experience at Grand Lake Kitchen. The food is thoughtful and made with craftsmanship. Our favorites include the warm polenta bowl and the Pastrami Benedict. It does get really busy so make reservations!

This place is legit. Had a low key business dinner here and it did not disappoint. Not stuffy or fancy, yet the service was fantastic, the food was delectable (chicken pot pie special was the best I've had) and the cocktails were great. Cool local vibe, not too crowded and not too noisy (was a Monday night though). I love this place and it will be my go to anytime I am in Oakland.

The food is really good. I had the warm polenta, which was incredibly good. I will definitely go back to get it again. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We sat outside, which was really nice. The inside was a bit crowded

Was able to reserve for brunch on a Saturday which I really appreciate. Also my friend was late and they didn't bother me about it. Food was good, savoury French toast, donuts, polenta bowl. Lattes were small though, and didn't get a verdict on the house coffee. Great location near Lake Merritt though the street is busy, glad I wasn't in the parklet. Will definitely be back!
