Excellent pastries and khachapuri (especially the later). I believe they're all made across the street at Leaning Tower of Pizza. The hot chocolate and tea selection are also great. I'm not a coffee guy, so you'll have to take others opinions if you're looking for that.
Pastries are absolutely delight in here, I love the fact that its one of the few cafes where they have a restroom and a place to sit, both indoors and outside. Outstanding service by the most genuine barista, Ricki. This had been a hidden gem I just happened to run across and this is exactly what the lake needs, a real café. I wish their hours were longer, they close at 2pm sharp and I like my metal and punk bands but not necessarily for an early AM, café lounge music is probably...
I work up the hill and will hike all the way down and back up this steep hill because this place is so fabulous. Great coffee and excellent pastries, like EXCELLENT. Must try coffee shop on the south side of Lake Merrit
