One of the best coffee spots in the city—not just for the espresso, but for the heart. The staff here serve up warmth, quality, and courage. Seeing their small pins of solidarity reminded me that good coffee tastes even better when it’s brewed in a space that stands for something. I felt not just welcome, but seen.

Best coffee in the Bay. Not exaggerating. I visit this place with my body twice a week.

Stopped by Highwire Coffee Roasters in Oakland for the first time — definitely impressed. Chill atmosphere, friendly staff, and the cappuccino was solid. Smooth, rich, and perfectly foamed. Great first impression, and I’ll definitely be back to try more.

I stop by almost every day for a cappuccino and mucci—always top quality. I also appreciate that the staff wear Free P a l e stine pins. It’s refreshing to see a place that serves great coffee and stands for humanity.
And it’s a shame that google didn’t show my review until I tricked it by altering the word their algorithm censors. Good for the person who complained about these pins, they at least can have a voice without censoring.
Great coffee, amazing service, polite baristas. I get coffee from this location every time I’m in the area. They have an inclusive environment and make me feel welcomed by wearing their lovely free P A L E S T I N E pins. Keep it up!

The service and by extension quality of coffee has really gone down over the years. This is specific to the Montclair location. Not to mention the servers have made several of our Jewish friends not feel welcome. Look I'd say if you like their coffee go to the Rockridge location but as long as the service at this location with long wait times, watered down drinks, and a side of prejudice is there don't go there. Sad after years of going there almost 2 to 3 times a week for many years and noticing the quality and service slip at this location. :(

This is where I get my beans everytime I am in town. Very consistent sweet shots.

Great little shop, delicious coffee. Bright windows to stand watch passers by. Limited seating. Don’t forget a Mochi muffin!
Have tried Peet’s, Starbucks, Blue bottle, cafe Santana, modern coffee & souvenir coffee (all either chains or third waves local to the east bay). This is consistently one of the best latte or other espresso drinks around. (Although modern & souvenir are right up there too. Plus blue bottles mocha — that stuff is *chefs kiss*)
A fantastic local coffee shop
The is superb the croissant was ok, I was hoping for a really nice flavor of the coffee. I did get a latte apart from the standard coffee shops. You see on every other corner. This coffee, top tier.!!!
However, I was a little disappointed with the pastry as there’s no way too warm the pastries that was a little bit of a disappointment, but sometimes you can get past that. Unfortunately the croissant was overcooked so it didn’t have that soft buttery croissant expectation.
Overall, I would definitely make this my go to for coffee!!
Great location, great service, great coffee.
