It's sad this place is closing. The food here is flavorful and the staff is great. Best to make a reservation because it's busy at dinner time.

Blink and you'll miss it! We had reservations for Mother's Day here and so glad we tried it. Asian fusion is never a bad idea! It was something new and the chips with the dip is def the way to start your brunch! It is a little addictive, because you can not get enough of their house chips. The dip def will leave you wanting more. We added a splash of lemon, and it actually activated the flavors even more. The service was beyond amazing and all staff was super attentive. Drinks were always right on time. I was having a hard time deciding what to order because there were so many things. I ordered the pork belly poached eggs. Oh my! What a great combination. Soft shell crab sandwich hit the spot and it was eaten within 10 minutes. I am not sure what kind of aioli was given, but it was to die for! The gravy was awesome and I wish I would've ordered it myself too and also why didn't I order a biscuit?! The salad that was served with the poached eggs were the perfect tangy side for the meal. I usually have a side of fries or potatoes but this was so light and delicious.

Just received an email that Hopscotch is closing for good. Really bummed me out. Place has always had great food and cocktails. It's a shame as now there are limited options to eat prior to a show at the Fox. I believe the owner has a ramen and hand roll place nearby which is good news because I loved this place and the vibe. Best of luck to all the staff and I can't wait to try the other restaurants nearby.

WE had a friend come to town and I decided to celebrate and take her to lunch at Hopsccoth. Imagine our surprise when we showed up and the restaurant is closed up with a hopeless man sleeping int he doorway. We looked around for anothre entrance or an annex and found nothing. Very disappointed and hope that Yelp updates the fact that Hopscotch is no longe open for lunch.

Had a great brunch here. I highly recommend the kimchi fried rice (I ordered it with no pork belly). It was perfectly cooked and served with soft boiled eggs.My husband had the pork belly Benedict which was good but agreed the fried rice was the clear winner. We also had a mimosa and grapefruit juice which were made with freshly squeezed fruit.Service was fast and the staff are friendly.

This place is a gem! I don't know why it's not busier and I really hope it sticks around. We made a reservation for 8 and ended up in the separate space two doors down that's part of the restaurant but we ended up having the whole room to ourselves. The staff was stellar and the food was absolutely delicious and unique. Awesome dining experience all around. Definitely check it out!

Great bites in Oakland for brunch! Fun ambiance, great service and a great bite to eat. The Bloody Mary was not my favorite but the food was all delicious. Loved the arancini and the eggs benedict. Ambiance is quirky and casual, enjoyed sitting at the bar. Service was fast and attentive. Overall recommend for casual lunch/brunch with a friend!

Good service, amazing food, ambience on point. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because I found a small piece of glass in my mimosa last time I went. Nonetheless, I got my meal for free, It would have been worse if I would've swallowed it right? I recommend the smoked salmon or friend chicken.

This was a great find for breakfast after running the Bay Bridge Half. My husband ordered the Chicken and Biscuits and loved every bite. The fried chickens was on point. I had the French Toast. We highly recommend the Bloody Mary

My husband and I were craving brunch. I hopped on here and found this place. They had me at oysters. The interior is intimate, with a cool lunch counter style bar and a few tables in the main dining room and then some more in the additional space located two doors down (where we sat- there is a market between the two spaces and at first we went to the wrong door- and we saw other people do it too). This was the best eggs Benedict (with pork belly) I have ever had. The Yuzu hollandaise was fantastic. The pork belly was perfect. The eggs were amazing. I devoured it. Crab Benedict was also described as "great" but he said he would have liked it not fried as there wasn't a huge crab flavor. We also got dessert because fuck it. Doughnuts were great. The mud pie was even better. The highlight of our meal though was Taylor. She was incredibly sweet, efficient, and helpful. We both work in the industry and wanted to poach her for our respective places. We have a new go to brunch place in Oakland.

The ambiance was cute..( not mentioning the outlandish urban outdoors woman who provided the evenings entertainment) but I guess that's the " urban life" .. the cocktails tasty, however tiny for the price. The food nothing outstanding, but not terrible. Our server was kind, although hard to hear over the speaker placed right behind the chair. Overall the Name is the best part of the place... but do try, to form your own opinion.

Loved it! Dumplings and chips n dip as starters, corn bread and porkchop for dinner. I gotta say, the porkchop is the ONE. Ill need to reverse engineer this one in my kitchen. It was medium and cooked to perfection. The dumplings were great, wish there were more than four. It was an app tho. 5stars! Oakland for the foodie win AGAIN!

cute spot with outside seating and a nice aesthetic. the salmon roe dip was a little waterier than I'd like but it was still good. I was craving fried chicken so had to get the chicken and biscuits, it was really good! The way they make the eggs is also really good, soft n buttery. I would've liked more gravy but maybe I'm being greedy lol. I had enough to take him and enjoy the next day (:

Ordered a bucket of chicken with biscuits, salad, & tater tots for take out lunch on Sunday (5/21/23). The menu says it serves 3-5, but it should state that it serves 3 as there are only 3 biscuits and a tiny salad. The chicken was the worst fried chicken that I ever have eaten, the legs had an off putting taste that screamed 'do not eat' the thigh shot hot fryer oil into my mouth and burned me. The breast was ok but still not good just a greasy unseasoned overcooked mess. The tater tots and salad were ok but the biscuits were dry clunks of inedible mass that have this first time visitor of Hopscotch noting not to return.
