I ordered shrimp chow fun.
They use some kind of preservative to make the shrimps crunchy but smells like ammonia/pee.
It was disgusting and I felt really sick afterwards

Excellent neighborhood Chinese restaurant. Dishes are very good--tasty and well proportioned with lots of selection. Prices are reasonable. Staff is personable and attentive. Outdoor seating is great for dogs. We dine here often and have always had a great experience!

Kind of empty all the time. Food was okay.
Hidden gem! Food is so tasty! Love their sizzling rice soup, egg fooyoung, salt & pepper fish etc. They also serve two beer brands.
Lunch time is my favorite. Quiet ambience, one of the few restaurants in the East Bay where I can actually hear so well! I have ordered many things on the menu and never have been disappointed. The service is attentive and friendly. Good too, for a larger group. And I like the view of the green and peaceful hillside.
Looking for a hidden gem Chinese restaurant? Here it is! Hunan Yuan has the BEST honey walnut prawns because YOU CAN ALSO GET FISH!! I always get the combo prawns and fish 🤤 it’s my favorite! When I order on Uber Eats or something, they are quick with bringing out the food and dining in is quick too. Ask for the hot tea, it’ll get you right for your meal.
Like dry fried ribs? Try the fried pork chop, it’s HELLA good, it’s like big pieces of dry fried ribs that got some kick. Chow fun and the combo fried rice are the sides and the salt/pepper chicken wings schmack with company. Broccoli beef is tender and the Chinese greens are delicious with garlic.
I’ve been coming here for years and finally leaving a review since I want them to win and have more business. I’ll remember to take some photos next time since I always dig in and forget until it’s half gone! They’re tucked behind the Peets and Jamba Juice near the dry cleaners. Maybe I’ll run into someone with the honey walnut prawn and fish combo and know the good work has been done *nodding head in proud accompaniment*
We ordered simple stuff (orange chicken, spring rolls, broccoli, & veg chow fun) to try this place out for the first time. Unfortunately no one liked any of the food.
This is a very good Chinese restaurant! The dishes are tasty and well priced. We are here almost once a month.

Used to be my favorite spot in Oakland. We waited over two hours and our food never arrived. Ruined Christmas dinner.
