I went to Hyphy Burger a few days ago, and I was highly disappointed with my experience. I’ve been there several times before, and the food is usually pretty good, which is why this visit was so frustrating. Not only did the quality fall short, but I also paid about $18 for a burger and large fries, which made the situation even more disappointing.
First, the owner really needs to implement a better system for faster service. Every time I’ve come here, there has been a long wait. Even when it’s not busy, you still have to wait a minimum of 20 minutes for your order. On more than one occasion, I waited about 45 minutes for my food. That’s extremely unreasonable for a place that is essentially serving fast food. Customers shouldn’t have to wait that long for a burger and fries.
Another issue is the fries. It seems like they sometimes serve fries that have already been made and sitting for a while. Nobody wants old, soggy fries. When I order fries, I expect them to be fresh and hot. I always make a point to request fresh fries when I place my order, but unfortunately they never seem to come out fresh.
What concerned me the most, however, was the food handling. I noticed the cook touching raw meat and then immediately touching cheese, fries, and raw onions while wearing the same gloves. That’s extremely unsanitary and creates a serious risk for cross contamination. Basic food safety practices should be followed at all times. To make things easier and more sanitary, the cook should be using utensils or a spatula to handle the burgers instead of using the same gloved hands that are touching other ingredients and food items, including reaching into the fry bag.
Overall, this place has potential because the food has been good in the past, but improvements are definitely needed. Better organization, faster service, and proper food safety practices would make a big difference. Some additional staff training could really help improve the customer experience and maintain the quality that people expect.

Great location for an already legendary Oakland brand. Very accommodating. I placed an order on DoorDash with the wrong location 20 minutes away from me and they helped me out and made sure I was taken care of. Shout out to Zack and the whole hyphy burger family.

Horrible experience ordered the donuts which was set at 10$ exactly they then charged like 11.25 for taxes then I gave them $20 they gave me $8 back , I ordered the fruity pebble donuts which has white glaze on the advertisement and they gave me strawberry which I am allergic to and made multiple complaints about and no employee handled it

Food was basic, I got the hyphy and the burnout burger they both tasted the same, the only difference was one had raw onions the other cooked onions, the loaded fries was i think the best but again nothing that stands out, but wait, the waiting time was the worst 35 minutes to get ur food with only 2 cars in front and 2 customers inside and the sauce tasted just like the In-N-Out one only they added something extra to make it they’re own. I’m not coming back and I DO NOT RECOMMEND
