I've ordered takeout from ILava a couple times on Doordash. Their orders have been tasty, with pretty good portion size relative to the price (these days). I've had their Chicken Combo Plate (Chicken Katsu and Chicken Teriyaki), Walnut Prawns and the Curry Chicken (BBQ Chicken with Curry Sauce instead of the teriyaki sauce). Their normal plates come with two scoops of rice and one scoop of macaroni salad. Compared to some of the other Hawaiian places in the area, this is probably one of my new favorites.

I only use Yelp to browse but I've been feeling so grateful that I live so close to such amazing (both in quality and value) BBQ chicken lately that I decided to write my first review. I'm no expert on Hawaiian bbq, but this place is in my neighborhood and so I stopped by once. Since that fateful day, I have been a passionate iLava supporter. If iLava has no fans, then I am dead. The macaroni salad is yummy and the BBQ chicken is good (this is coming from a Texan and we take our BBQ seriously). I appreciated that they let me substitute the rice for extra broccoli too. I didn't know how good this place really is until I went to Ohana for the first time. Now, as I said before, I'm pretty new to the Hawaiian bbq scene. I was not nearby iLava, but craving BBQ chicken, so I went to Ohana. Not only was it more expensive but they gave me half the meat portion I get at iLava and they wouldn't add extra broccoli. Instead of giving Ohana a bad review, I decided to appreciate what I have and let iLava know how much i lava them (sorry) instead.

I am a trucker, tried this place on a reco from a guy at Home Depot while making a delivery. Place has very similar menu to "Hawaiian Bros," if you've ever heard of them, but I digress... Ordered via Uber Eats, food arrived swiftly and HOT. Portions were plentiful and DELICIOUS! Got the Hawaiian BBQ as well as Lau Lau and Kahlua Pork for later. Would HIGHLY recommend, will be back if I'm in the Bay Area again.
This is a little gem tucked away on high Street. The musubi is delicious! And the Moco Loco is HUGE! I've been twice and they are always so fast. The portions are great and their Katsu sauce is a dream! Definitely worth checking out.Wheelchair accessibility: Big open space which is easy to maneuver in. Tables are low enough to get to, but the counter is a little too high.

They delivered for my graduation lunch at Cal. It was a stressful day for me. I wanted to please my guests--I had a bunch of guests because I was giving the commencement speech (yasss humble brag). I mean about 20 guests so I had a pretty big order. But the food from iLava Hawaiian Barbecue was pretty yummy, came nice and warm and really good handoff with the delivery person - thanks for calling several times to look for where the heck we were in the campus. You're awesome.

Greeted with a smile and excellent customer. The food is really good and the Teriyaki sauce is yummy ❤️?. Nice portion sizes and no problem with substitutions...the barbeque beef is the best...but if you prefer chicken you will not be disappointed. And the price of the food is still reasonable...and it's clean in the restaurant...
The girl at the front had an attitude, this garlic shrimp is too salty, the macaroni salad has no taste whatsoever AND there was a gray hair in my food.... absolutely disgusting I'll never spend my money here again...
