JJ fish in West Oakland the fish and cold slaw is Fire , and the Staff is very Cool , I would recommend it to everyone's, and the coleslaw is so good some time they run out bit most of the time they have it ,and there's always parking .

The sole was deeeeelicious. The only problem was the order sent to the store over 10 miles from my house. Not the store that was 3 miles. Good thing we were out for a drive. Phone and website orders be aware.

The sides are all terrible. Whoever makes them has no idea of what they are doing. Do not order any sides other than French fries. They didn't have bread for my fish order and didn't say anything to me about it. The only way I knew that I didn't have bread with my order is I was asking to purchase extra bread to go with my fish. The young guy taking the orders made it seem like it was no big deal. I told him to me it was a big deal because I look forward to having bread with my fish. Who doesn't? That's like having a hot dog but you ran out of buns. How do you run it of bread and you sell fried chicken and fish?!! Any manager with the proper experience would have been on that before they ran out. This location seems to be operated by young inexperienced boys. That's what I observed when go there. It pissed me off before I had to work that evening. I couldn't stop off and purchase a loaf of bread. I didn't want a loaf. This happened about two weeks ago but I still had to post a review. When I spend my money I expect to get what comes with my order . Nothing more, nothing less. But once again do not order any of the sides,ie : Mac and cheese, greens,red beans and rice. I made the mistake of substituting my fries for the wanna be spaghetti. Big mistake. The spaghetti had no sauce and was dry,heat up in a cup by a microwave. The fish is pretty good if they would cut back on some of the salt. They have franchise ame, but nobody with cooking skills to back it up. I usually cook my own fish with the sides very well,but don't always have the time. So all in all I had fish with no bread or a side because I had to throw the spaghetti away because it was nasty (whoever made it didn't even use spaghetti noodles). Foreigner's trying to make our food in our community. We deserve better than that for our hard earned money. I couldn't this go, I had to write a truthful review. I had a very disappointing lunch at work that evening for sure. I wish I would have somewhere other than here . And remember, do not order the sides unless you are use eating bad food. Stick to the fries . And I can only imagine what the gumbo tastes like. They won't get my money on that, believe me. You won't just take my money again. To the manager of this store, you need to do Better!!!!
I was ready to eat my food and disappointed that my 6 PC was old and smelled old. I live in Antioch and going back wasn't an option. The legs were huge( 3) old legs the wings and fries and cake was okay. Check your food before leaving.

i always get the sole and it's always seasoned perfectly. all the sides are worth it and they have lemonade slushes that r great too. the fish is better than the chicken tho, sometimes it comes dry

Best catfish, jumbo shrimp, fried oysters this side of Mississippi. Everything was perfect.
This is a hidden gem in Oakland. We tried a few things on the menu. The shrimp was the star of the show for us! The portions are big so consider sharing. The red velvet cake was good too. This place should be in your regular rotation to visit, when your not in the mood to cook.
