Just stopped there to get an Americano coffee, it’s a fancy place, DJ, culture and all but the basic Americano coffee is tasteless, gas station coffee taste. Desappointing.

Good coffee, good food, and a great focus on the community- with plentiful seating and great ambiance. All around, a fantastic place to get some work done or socialize, with one other feature I've never encountered in other cafes or restaurants: a bathroom with a full BIDET. A truly unparalleled luxury. Spend your time and money here.

Good vibes here. Pretty good chicken pesto sandwich too. I would recommend getting here early if you want a seat, as it's pretty busy every day.

Good cafe for work or study. Free wifi, bathrooms, and plenty of seating. I went on a Monday around 2:45 and it was pretty crowded. Around 4pm a lot of people had cleared out. My rating is based mostly on atmosphere/vibes because I didn’t get any food but I did enjoy the drink I got. I bought an iced matcha lavender latte with oat milk and it was very tasty but I wish I tasted more lavender- I feel like I barely tasted it at all. If noise and music bothers you, you may not want to go here. Even when it was more empty toward the end of the day, there was a man playing music outside quite loudly and while I’m not completely sure if he was affiliated with the business, I think he was so I’m guessing they have performers come play music often. It didn’t bother me but did pull at my attention sometimes.

It was cold and raining so me and a friend went here to talk and have some coffee. I love the atmosphere, and the service was good, but my coffee was barely warm. I never complain about food or drinks because I’m terrified about retaliation, but if your chilled and want hot coffee you might not get it here

I am not a person of color, and this is hands down the coolest cafe in Oakland town. If you love Oakland like I do, then this is another reason why. I would describe it as a much bigger and wealthy Hasta Muerte cafe. Oh, I enjoyed the mirror at the entrance. Nice.

There are places that simply feel right, and Kinfolx is one of them. It’s a thoughtful third space—calm, beautiful, and unforced—suited for focused work, meaningful conversation, or an easy first meeting. Kinfolx offers a sense of ease and belonging that feels true to Oakland. It’s the kind of place you’re glad exists.

Kinfolx is the best community cafe in Oakland. Not because of what they sell, but because of what they offer. Going to Kinfolx both feels like a cozy cafe and chillin in your living room.
There community programming is top tier, and better than anything else in Oakland. They are so community focused and driven, they are so intentional in creating a warm, inviting, and inclusive space. I do find the drinks to be a bit overpriced for what they are, and the food to be underrated (the veggie breakfast sandwich is delish) but I'm ok paying a premium to support a community, black-owned business trying to provide a living wage for staff and maintain a large, inviting public work and gathering space. Get here early because seats will fill up at what I like to call, #ClubKinfolx :)

Worth the $20-$25 for coffee and a sandwich. I like that they have gluten free bread options, internet, Japanese toilet and you can stay to cowork as long as possible.

A nice cafe in downtown Oakland with ample seating options. They serve breakfast food (think egg sandwich and pastries) and your usual coffee offerings. In addition to tables and chairs (often taken up by people on laptops during the week) they also have some couches. It's a nice spot with good vibes. No parking but so close to Bart and bus options. Support a local business!
