I love this place, it reminds me of home, I'm from Socal and just wanted some comfort food and here I have found it. Great service, wonderful staff, I've found my Norcal favorite chilaquiles. Everything here is great, also they give you refried beans with the tortilla chips.
There are places you eat, and then there are places that feel like home—La Hacienda on MacArthur in Oakland is the latter. No pretension, no gimmicks, just damn good food served with warmth and a sense of place.
The carnitas burrito? A masterpiece—crispy-edged pork, rich and juicy, wrapped in a tortilla that actually holds its own. The fajitas sizzle and smoke like they mean business, every bite a reminder that sometimes, simple done right is all you need....

Just returned there after an absence of many years, since before Covid. Still a great place! An old school family owned Mexican restaurant in the Fruitvale. Doesn’t get better than this! I had Camarones Mojo al Ajo. My companion had her old favorite Chiles Rellenos and salad. Both dishes excellent.The decor is old timey Mexican. Great friendly waitress. Definitely going back much more often, the place is a gem in the neighborhood.
