Very relaxing atmosphere, watching the kayakers on the water was a bonus. They staff was very attentive, friendly and knowledgeable.

I have been to Lake Chalet several times, usually to celebrate family birthdays, as I did on 9/15/24. Great food as always. Great service as always. Beautiful location. My mom and I split the bill, including a 20%+ tip, rounding the total to a whole number. A few weeks later, my bookkeeper mother called and asked what I had been charged and to compare to the receipt I kept. We both had signed for $220 but had both been charged $231. I contacted Lake Chalet on Monday 9/30, got support from a very apologetic host who took my details to leave for the manager. I never heard back.
I called back on Thursday and spoke with the same host who was surprised I hadn’t heard back. Finally got the manager on the line who sounded dismissive and distracted, saying she would discuss with the owner the next morning and she would call me back. I called late Friday afternoon after not hearing anything and she confirmed she spoke with the owner who was looking into it.
I called back Tuesday evening having received no proactive response and the manger refused to come to the phone, asking the host to tell me that “even though it might seem nothing is happening, the owner is working on it.”
It’s only $11 but being charged more than what I signed for has left a rancid taste in my mouth. Take a close look at what you are charged after you visit.

This place is magical. It's pricey but delicious. The view on the waterfront deck, with a slight breeze, is breathtaking. The best spot for a special occasion.

I recently visited Lake Chalet in Oakland and had a fantastic experience. I ordered a cheeseburger with French fries, and it did not disappoint! The burger was cooked to perfection, juicy and flavorful, and the fries were crispy and delicious. Beyond the great food, the atmosphere was unbeatable. With stunning views of Lake Merritt, it was the perfect spot to enjoy a relaxing meal. Whether you’re looking for a casual bite or a place to unwind with friends, Lake Chalet is definitely worth a visit. Highly recommend!

The Lake Chalet is a massive restaurant...tons of space with beautiful outdoor seating. It is, however, very dated. The inside of the restaurant has an odor...fairly certain it's the aged carpet. All staff were very friendly and our waiter was helpful in recommending favorites. My dish, Ahi Tuna Bowl, was mediocre, but my friend had good things to say about the salmon. The butter cake was tasty. I would frequent this restaurant again, but only for outside seating.

This was the worst experience I had at this place the waiter definitely was the reason . They were rude, didn’t give a care for we were there , as I was celebrating my birthday with my family. They were clearing tables before we could even enjoy our meal we had to keep asking for drinks as they weren’t saying long enough to take our full order. Our food was cold coming out. Never again.

Had a fabulous dinner with delicious cocktails and the service is excellent! A memorable evening!
