I was hoping to try this shop out when I first moved to the area several months ago but every time I passed by it it was never open and there's a sign on the door saying "closed for the winter". Well, it's mid-July now so I take it to mean that the store is now permanently closed at this point and the owner(s) just never bothered to say so on their website or even social media. It's a shame I can't give zero stars for how I as well as many other customers were misled by this appalling lack of communication.

It's July and a sign on the window says "Closed for the Winter." I think that means they are closed permanently. Too bad because they had some interesting flavors. I'm not sure why Covid would have knocked them out. All of the other ice cream shops we go to did just fine during the pandemic.

Google won’t accept my edit to the hours. This place has been “closed for the winter” for months. I contacted on Instagram a month ago and still haven’t heard back.

Sadly, they were closed for good yet still taking orders on their website!!! They let me place an order, charge me for it, and when I went to pick it up they were shut down with a sign that they are "closed in the winter". It is June with a 90 degree weather in Oakland. I was hoping to taste their mini pints.

Just learned the hard way they're closed for "the winter" but I went in May. Don't know if they're planning on reopening but they don't give any indication they're closed on social media/website or Google. Lame.

I love this place so much but honestly change your stores hours on google… I drove 45min to get ice cream an a Sunday to find out it closes early….
Cool winter day, kqed and a single serve of roaster's coffee ice cream with pints of Maker's Mark, Key Lime and Nana Puddin to go. Can't think of a better way to spend an afternoon downtown Okland. The Roaster's Coffee is smooth with speckles of coffee, mouthy but not creamy and leaves a pleasant coffee after taste. They have vegan/ lactose free options as well. Good variety of hard ice creams and sorbets. I didn't try the floats and sundaes. Left it for another day.

The other day, I had a chance to try Little Giant Ice Cream. It's smooth, rich, and for me....worth the price. It's got a nice location across the street from the old Sears building on Telegraph. And for you REAL old school folks.....you'll know it as the old Capwell's building at 20th St x Telegraph. Anyway, I tried the Coffee flavor and Strawberry Limeade. OMG, really rich and smooth coffee ice cream. Not too sweet, just enough to taste like real coffee. The Strawberry Limeade is an interesting, yet refreshing combination of flavors. I couldn't stop eating it. I kept trying to decide which was the dominate flavor, strawberry or lime. I guess it's a tie. If you love it, it's worth the price....

Went out of my way after an outing to bring my mom here since she wanted some ice cream. We both wanted Dirty South - caramel, pecan and bourbon - and it hit the spot. I grabbed a pint of Strawberry Limeade for the kids and they were happy. I love the unusual flavors and being able to support local business. Coffee ice cream is my favorite but when I'm here I tend to go for flavors like Thai Green Curry that I can't get anywhere else. I would take a picture but it would only be of an empty container.
