The experience didn't quite live up to the expectation. All of the breakfast buffet items were icy cold. The space felt cavernous and the floor was very sticky. The floral arrangements and the craft gratitude tables were fantastic. The massage was wonderful and the outdoor space is great. We loved the photo booth and the festive atmosphere that it brought to the event.

The ambiance was very relaxed, personal and grounded in an open comfortable and feel at home vibe. I love the openness indoor/outdoor outdoor/indoor feel. It's airy with great air flow with the doors open to the outside dining and also the choice of indoor or outdoor dining. The food was excellent. The vegetables fried rice was amazing and it paired exceptionally with the most delicate and delicious salmon pate. The kale salad was also amazing and paired perfectly with the fried rice and salmon. Everything was super fresh and perfectly seasoned, full of unique flavors and yet so light and filling and satisfying. Everything paired well and balanced well together and each dish would also be an excellent stand alone dish. Jen is the perfect hostess, always so kind, so sweet, and so thoughtful. A most lovely place, most lovely food, a perfect reflection of Jen and her special ability to create a Lovely Day for everyone. I highly recommend Lovely Day.

Good food and cocktails! We've gone here about 5 times, and always leave happy. The menu seems to change throughout the year, always tempting us with a new drink or dish when we come. Great outdoor seating space. They also host different events including a karaoke night we went to a bit back that was a lot of fun.

Such a wonderful atmosphere and delicious food and drinks. The staff are fantastic and make your dining experience the best.

What an absolute blast ! Scott and Jen could not have been more thoughtful and kind hosts for a gorgeous New Years Eve celebetion! Scrumptious, so fun, so much free bubbly to go around and share, and left with many new friends!! Can't WAIT to return soon!!

Omg I love this place especially the service and the owner's kindness So parking is a little :-/ - there's not a private lot but street parking is available it's not a lot but the restaurant wasn't packed at all so it shouldn't be difficult The urn h menu is limited BUT their reg menu is available and I recommend the small plates especially the yams and seared scallops! Cocktails are a must here ! Try the Bloody Mary , the mimosa bar (it's all about that cinnamon pear juice) and any of their brunch/coffee-inspired cocktails Honestly the space is beautiful, service was in point , not sure why they're not packed but they should be ! We were here for HOURS drinking and laughing

Jen, Scott, and the entire family at Lovely Day hosted our birthday party — and it was unforgettable. From the delicious food and drink, to the warm welcome they extended to our guests, to the beautiful venue (inside and out), they made our evening magical. They are experienced, gracious, and superb professionals, who bring elegance and excellence to an event. Our guests continue to tell us how memorable the event was, and how gracious the staff was. Thank you for a wonderful memory.Vegetarian options: Caesar salad!

Great restaurant in a quiet neighborhood that is definitely worth the trip! The menu has items that will satisfy diners of all ages. We started with roasted brussels sprouts with grapes, hazelnuts and green goddess dressing. It was so good even our kiddos (ages 5 and 8) asked for more. Our kiddos also enjoyed the delicious cheeseburger (there's also an impossible burger on the menu) served on a Starter brioche bun (another local Oakland/Berkeley business) and home made pickles. I had chicken Milanese. The chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, served on a bed of arugula, a shallot/caper beurre blanc sauce, and lemon wedges. We also ordered the Kennebec french fries, which were perfectly crispy outside and like fluffy mashed potatoes on the inside. Non-alcoholic drinks our kiddos chose were the Princess Punch - a basil-infused strawberry lemonade and the What's Up Doc - a lychee, pineapple, coconut milk lemonade. Both were kid-approved. The space is a converted warehouse with high ceilings, exposed brick, nice and airy. There is also a large outdoor dining area. Street parking is easy to find. Highly recommend this restaurant and really happy to have found this place!

Scott, the owner, always remembers us and is so welcoming. Lovely Day has become our favorite special restaurant. My daughter loves it as much as I do. If you go for brunch, has the Shrimp and Grits!

Lovely day is a super cute spot in north oakland. I appreciated the warmth of the waiters, and that there were many options clearly labeled gluten free. Their salads and starters were delicious, and we also ordered the ribs and the scallops. The ribs were good, and the scallops were cooked well, but a little too salty. I would try their burger on the next go around, and all in all happy to find this neighborhood spot!

Food was pretty delicious overall except for the brussel sprouts which were rubbery. The ambience is nice - the place is spacious and well decorated, and the cocktails were great as well. Downsides would be: service felt rushed, they kept asking us what else we wanted over and over; they also said the concept is tapas to share, but the portions are pretty small, so I would say its deconstructed individual plates. For example, the burger is 1 burger but comes cut in 2. The pork belly is a tiny square. For one person you should select a main and a side and that's one dish. Only the chicken milanese was about a kind of shareable size.

Interesting space with an interesting menu. They have a giant space off to the side that can host a private party for up to 100 guests. There was a party with jumping music when we were there tonight. There is also an awesome large patio for daytime outdoor dining. Alas the execution of the menu tonight was just a bit short of good. The burger was decent but nothing to rave about. The seared scallops was barely seared so the flavor was lackluster. The biggest miss was the fuyu and burrata. The menu item sounded great. But it's really just (barely warmed) burrata sitting in pesto while sharing a plate with a small salad with fuyu persimmons slices. In other words there was no interaction between the persimmons and the burrata. Had so much potential that it felt like a serious miss.

Awesome food and service. 90% of the menu is gluten free (and legitimately so, no shared fryers). Highly recommend

What a delightful surprise! Every morsel of food was delicious (but the squash blossoms were my favorite). The staff were gracious and engaging. Also the ambiance fun and inviting. The high ceilings offer great acoustics where there's a lively buzz around you but you can easily hear your dining partner. A great place for big party or romantic date. Definitely coming back soon (with the kids).
