One of my favorite restaurants in all of Oakland! Have been there for several birthday dinners and date nights and it never disappoints. The wine line is on point too. Its also relatively affordable for fine dining (you get 8 courses for the pri fixe) and the food is innovative -- I cant think of any other place doing specifically Latin American inflected fine dining. They are also down to accomodate virtually any dietary restriction.
My family and I drove from more than 50 miles to dine at Mägo for my birthday. It was very well worth it. The tasting menu was well crafted, with a good combination of plates and a hint of Caribbean/South American touches. We sat at the chef's counter and had a front row seat to the kitchen, watching the orchestration that goes into delivering the dishes. Highly recommended!
Fantastic Thanksgiving take out - second year in a row. Really good food - traditional enough, but also slightly different. Enough food for three small eaters to have leftovers. Dressing was a knock out. Dessert, less so.
