First time visiting this local favorite. Portions were decent, but was surprised at the lack of beer choices. I usually order Mexican Beers with this type of meal, but not much for authentic beer choices here. Ended up drinking a domestic beer. \nThe server never came back to check for drink refills.
This was a very enjoyable meal. The flavors were very good and the plate size was good. Prices are reasonable. probably the only reason for a 4 instead of a 5 rating was having to pay for chips and salsa to start and the automatic adding of a fee for using a credit card. I did not see that on the menu, so felt that it was a surprise exra charge.
We have wanted to try Maria's for months, but they are closed on Sundays, which is when we typically go to lunch. Finally went last Saturday. The place was busy and they had 1 waitress and a busboy working. They were both pleasant though. The two of us each had 2 margaritas and a combo platter. The Chile Relleno was really good, the Chimichanga tasted like it was fried in dirty oil. Overall a decent meal, considerinng finding good Mexican food in Montana is nearly impossible....
