The best place to shop for the best food items. I could spend all day wandering and looking around the shop, it's so beautiful. Fair warning: it's a very popular place! It's often crowded and busy, but nevertheless a wonderful experience.

Just had their Apple and Pear Galette and it was amazing. Perfect shell and delicious filling.

Just want to comment on the Coconut Cream Cake. It was a slice and the edges were dry, (like when you leave a slice of bread out too long), the cake beyond the sliced edges had no moisture, (there wasn't enough fat in the batter) and over cooked. The cream filling also lacked taste and if they used coconut milk, it was a generic brand. I believe the cake was too old, which is why it tasted stale. My son tried it and spat it out and stated, "It wasn't even worth swallowing it."
Before this visit, I bought a whole Tres Leche Cake and that was good, and a slice of chocolate and it was dry.

This is my go-to place for lunch and dinner. Been going to Market Hall for the past 5 years or so. Started going at the West Berkeley Market Hall but now frequent this Oakland location.
I especially love their soup, stews, salads, and pastries. So many varieties of food options that it can be overwhelming at times trying to pick what you want!

The last two times I bought a whole pizza here, it was on time and very fresh. This time it was late for pickup and obviously assembled from pieces that had been made earlier (like yesterday). So sad. I thought I had found pizza nirvana. If I could get my money back I would try.

This is an excellent bakery. They have coffees in the corner and all the cakes, cookies and pastries are on other side. Very fancy stuff, a little expensive but very good. Note that they have pizza by the pie, half pie or slices ( all types), very fresh!!. I'm gonna get pizza next time! Also have a deli in the back. Great business!

Staff did not care to assist me as I waited at the counter near the bakery. Customers around me were rude and entitled, hence the location.

My husband just brought home a Brown Butter Almond Torte. My mouth is doing a happy dance. This bakery is the Best! The seed bread is amazing and the Almond Torte is all that and 3 bags of chips.

Good but pricey

1) Their Tiramasu is fake. Didn't use ladyfingers : rather cake. Yet they charged as if it was genuine. 2) Scimped in ingredients in Pear Tarte : looked like Pear tarte, but over-thick crust.
Will NEVER order from them.

I just got an almond croissant. I was convinced they’d given me a plain croissant. With every bite, I hoped I would encounter some almond paste. Such as when you buy a ham sandwich, you expect there to be ham on it. I went back to let them know about the quality control of this almond croissant that had some powdered sugar and almond on top , but no paste inside. the cashier refused to refund me or give me another one on the off chance that I got a bum almond croissant. The quality of the product and the customer service was unfortunately disappointing. I will not be returning. In the grand scheme of things it’s really not that big a deal, and if you have the impulse to have an almond croissant, I would not buy one from Market Hall.

There is no pride in their product by their staff: I was sold items way past their prime at their premium price. If an item has passed its enjoyable time, it should be pulled, not sold.

I had the passionfruit and lemon cheesecake and it was absolutely DIVINE! The flavor had a perfect balance of sweet and tart. You could actually taste the passionfruit and the lemon was subtle enough to not be overpowering. The texture was rich and creamy. It was $4.95 for a slice but the slice was very dense and filling so I found the pricing reasonable. I can’t wait to try other treats!
