A very place to get tasty and healthy food and drink, nestled in one of the coolest Oakland neighborhoods. Easy to get to, close to freeways
This indoor market is amazing! Great fresh prepared and take-away food items. Pizza slices are huge, bakery is delicious! So many options.
Great for exploring gourmet food products. Pricey, though.
This place is a foodie's dream. Selection is amazing, workers are helpful and super nice. Bring a lot of money!! But somehow I never feel ripped off!
Yummy! But they charged me $3.25 for one cookie the size of an Oreo. And it wasn’t worth nearly that much.
I love this store and it deserves five stars. This is a review for the guy that helped me at the butcher counter today in the hopes management sees it. I asked for 12 slices of bacon. I was browsing elsewhere and returned to a package that was really small and only weighed 1/3 pound. I asked him Oh hey man did you get 12 slices in there? He responded yes. Skeptical I asked again, seems really light, no? Are you sure it’s 12 slices? He said yes again with a weird smirk. I knew he was lying but I didn’t feel like making a big deal of something trivial. Sure enough I opened it at home to 4 slices. Truly bizarre behavior. Especially when everything was polite and cordial. Retrain this man, very annoying.
Visited for the first time based on recommendation from a friend. Here's what we liked:
Fresh pastas for sale has a great vegetarian selection. We got spinach feta ravioli and their thousand island dressing. Worked together well
Cheese selection is amazing!! Must try! And they give samples
The bakery is fine, got their mousse center chocolate cake which was actually pretty blah. Their chicken turnover and spinach turnovers wete good. Pizza looked good but we didn't try
Overall, fun place.
But the place has a strong smell of meat and fish if you enter from their parking or from BART parking lot. It was a bit of a turn off till we reached the pasta section. After that it was fine.
Myself and my wife have been here twice within the last two weeks. The food is great from the deli, all the way in the back. Can be pricey depending on what you get. Quick and efficient service from the people behind the counter! Plenty of seating outside. Conveniently located across from Rockridge Bart. Went to a vintage market across the street too! Great weekend!
Best place for everything food
This is a great place either way so many great things to choose from, my only complaint is the people or better the two employees I have encountered lately, Who do not have any knowledge of how food should be treated.I wonder why or who hires them, example; I asked for half a pound of thinly sliced ham, he sliced some placed it on the paper, continued with some more and then pressed down with his hands and compressed, I called him but he did not answered, he finished and proceeded to rolled into a tight cylinder.
Second time different person, asked for a pound of raviolis, he put it into a plastic bag and then compressed it into a tight ball.
Is it me or does anybody else see what’s wrong with this, I hope the person in charge of the deli reads this and and makes sure employees know how to handle food.

I bought a pizza which after I paid, could not be reheated so I asked to cancel. He said he did but I got deducted. Not honest.
Lots of variety from produce, wine, butcher, cheese, bakery......
I have known about (and occasionally shopped) at this place since it opened in 1990. It has always been a high-end store, which sells a lot of interesting foods. It's like a market for rich people, but you get what you pay for. Knowing this for as long as I have should be helpful. They have separate meat and fish markets, as well as all sorts of other goodies. Located next to the Rockridge BART Station.
Top quality
I ordered a pound of smoked salmon by phone. The person answering insisted on taking down all of my credit card information including the security code which I thought was totally unnecessary because when I went to pick it up later I found out I had not yet paid for the item I'd ordered. Then I was told that the person who had placed the order and her supervisor were not available for me to talk to. In the past I have been a big fan of Market Hall but my most recent experience was disappointing.
