High Maintenance
This is my 3rd burrito from Maya tonight I came and the flavor was off, everything was fresh but it was no taste in the beans or the steak tonight I was so disappointed but I will try again this is the first miss so if something changed get rid of it 6/28/2025 dry and no taste and I was bragging even had my Muslim brothers checking it out today I hope they didn't notice 🫶🏿

Easily the best taqueria in downtown! Everything is absolutely delicious, especially the super burrito, super nachos, and agua fresca. Maya Halal always hits the spot!!
There are a few tables outside but it is primarily a carry out spot.

Went to the Oakland location where I was denied the restroom despite them having one, when I first asked, the employee lied and said they didn’t have a bathroom. I notice the pro black and pro brown posters outside their restaurant but they don’t have any black employees and the restaurant restrictions seem targeted. As a black Muslim, I will never go back. I don’t support places that don’t fully support people that look like me!

I'm giving this place a 3 star because we came from out of the state to try this place after it was recommended by many. Food was good and quick but it's in a unsafe area in Oakland. Our cars were rentals and I guess someone was watching us and stole suitcases out of our cars right in front of the restaurant. I would caution anyone coming to this area. Also no one person offered to help us standing on the street or even from the restaurant itself. So makes me wonder whether everyone there thinks this is normal behavior. I'd stay away.
